What's up with my hydroforce

Barely sucking juice today. Other then high heat is there anything I should check?

Make sure the hose clamp is tight on the straw, make sure the dema is clear of debris, and turn your pressure down. In the HF the less pressure the more they suck... Run it at 400 psi and see if it helps.

The first vid is the rebuild one the rest are about the strainer and other crap that goes wrong with the sprayer.

Thanks a lot. I just cleaned it, took out the yellow tip (running with no tip now) and noticed I've had a 8004 jet , changed to a 6503. Also replaced the clear tube in case it had a hole. I'll test it in the morning. I run the machine at it's lowest setting (about 350 psi).

I guess I'll have to break out and get a sprayer.

Larry, I remember your posts regarding your hatred for these things, I hope you're wrong. :lol:

Good going on tossing the metering tip.

Check the O ring that the BB sits on too. They get torn up quick.

You MUST use a 6506 Tee-Jet....Any smaller jet will restrict the VOLUME of DRAW..

After you fix the problem...Throw the 5 quart container away......Use a 2 gallon JUG..

This will allow you to have plenty of PRE-SPRAY on hand....This will eleminate the need
STOP & REFILL in a normal size home...Plus the extra weight in the jug will make it more
stable....(won't TIP over like the 5 QT. jug.)

The only modifacation you have to make.... is to put a LONGER draw hose.....

A 2 gal jug will tip too.

the 7 qt flat jug is what you want.

All this tipping talk, if its that big of an issue, park the 2 gal. jug at the front door, put a quick connect on the dema valve and your gun, then use a spare 50' sol. line and you won't have to carry the weight around.
And yes, you need the larger spray tip or it won't draw, I doubt your 04 tip was pulling much juice.

And I am amazed at how many guys don't realize their hydroforce has an inline filter on the handle that should be checked and cleaned, actually all tools should have a filter.

Just a thought. I use my hydroforce to apply teflon. I forgot to clean it out once and the next day the hydroforce would not draw any chemical. I had to chunk it and get a new one. Other than that, check the strainer at the end of the straw to make sure it is not crusted over with chemical residue. I have used my hydroforce with 1000 psi and it sucked chemical fine. I usually have it set at 300 to 350 psi.

That's a good idea, hydroforces work for years without problems and when mine stopped drawing the suction tube had a crack from years of bending.

You don't need to adjust your psi from your normal cleaning setting, that's the beauty of the hydroforce.

Not for prespray chemicals. A pumpup will break your arm and waste your time. A battery or electric will just waste your money and time.

If you are using procyon, acid or hydrogen peroxide in your prespray, the orifice in the dema valve will corrode and become too large to draw chemical out of the jug. The good news is that it is replaceable. Take the hose off of both ends of the dema valve and then used some compresssed air to blow it out. There is a small little part that should pop out. A small screw driver will do the trick too. Compare it to a new one and I bet that you'll be surprised on how much larger it is. Replace. And you are good to go.

no I'm not, they're JUNK if you own a TM that makes hot water.

they're an inconsistent POS and you don't know what dilution rate you're spraying.
You don't know they're not drawing chem til AFTER you've wasted time spraying a couple three rooms with just water

I'll be honest, I never got more than 3 swipes with a HF gun and said...hey there is no "white" factor, as in no chem in the mix, a close pass here and there is an easy way to keep an eye on draw vs: no draw. Maybe MeAt had some juice that didn't leave any visible sign of application, I always sprayed heavy cause i'm lazy and dry wasn't a problem with a 47 and 2.5 hose.

LOL..I love the CONSISTENCY of having to GUESS how much chem is being metered by the amount of foam bubbles as you "swipe" saturate a spot... :lol:

With my HF I can hear whether or not it is working properly the sound is just different when it's not working properly. Maybe I'm just weird 8)

Time for the bucket test. Fill up your hf jug, hook to solution line, fill up buckets till you hf jug is empty. Count how many gallons of water you have dispensed, do the math and you have your actual ratio. Make sure your unit is up to normal operating temp before you start the test. Happy hunting :mrgreen:

Silly meAthead, if it's drawing, it's drawing, it'll be the same concentration in room A as it will in room B, just do like Rex and bucket test it once inawhile, once you got your 8:1 10:1 etc....of ACTUAL ratio, tehn you can adust your concentrate accordingly, it's not that hard, and time is money, and hot prespray is nice.

The HydroSoaker will never go away.

But that whole applying PROTECTOR with it, is just nuts. Whoever first thought of packaging protector in HF style jugs should just be slapped.
