Most often I will hook up when walk in to start cleaning. I'm guessing that 50' of 2" will back lash 1-2 ft at 12hg and more the higher the hg.

Just make sure that the other end of the hose isn't open and you suck a puppy or small child into it or something.

You would think the manufacturers would ge the clue and start making vac hose 60 feet increments so when its plugged in, it maintains atleast the right length as the solution hose.

My vac's so powerful it turns the hose inside-out if I don't hook up first.

Hook everything up first. I think it can be a hazard to have an open, unattended vac hose in the home. Lose 5 or 6 feet when turn it on. Another 5 or 6 feet when the wand hits the floor. I have learned to make sure the lead length(12 ft) is extra hose.

since I started using the superflex and the 2.5", I haven't noticed any backlash. I've never even though about it for since July. Maybe a6 or 7 inches max.

Used to be a couple feet with my old hose! Boy would that single wall stuff suck back!
