I used Tom's swivle Ti on three jobs yesterday.

Im reserving comments until after furthur use but I'm wondering...

Is the swivle feature beneficial enough for you to use it on your every day wand?

or just for tight furnished homes?

Do you wish it had a lock out feature?

Do you find that your non trigger hand is getting much more of a work out?

Are you sold and could you ever go back to a traditional wand?

Tried a swivel once but it was a little dorky I gave up on it. I just couldn't get used to it.

I think its benefits are over sold. How well are you really cleaning under a bed? Little more than removing dust and potentially wetting it more than it should. If it really needs to be cleaned well, the bed still needs to be moved.

However if you like that sort of thing, I'm not saying you're wrong for using it.
You're wrong for using it! ;)

Have 2 swivel Bentleys....not a fan of them for a couple reasons....but we do use them sometimes to get under beds...

But love the Zippers even more for beds we can get those under....

For swivel, the only other wand we use are out stair tools in Swivel....

Don't know how new Swivel Ti is, so really can't comment either....

Maybe he has worked out some things that make it better.....but a lock could be nice...but again....just saying because of experience with the other swivels I mentioned...

had a Mytee Bentree swivel
the biggest issue is not being able to left an end to suck up a piece of lint/hair or juju bead

I don't ever see another swivel head wand in my future ...very little virtue in them.
I figure only the gadget gEEks with batman belts like them ....

I'm pretty sure there is no need for a swivel wand..I tried the Bentley when they first came out...didn't "get it" still don't get it.
I have greenie's stair tool (straight 2" tube) that gets under a bed when needed.

The swivel is Not for everyone that is true, and I am okay if you don't like the swivel, you can say swivels are for newbs and gadget geeks. I did feel that way but after using it a while I do like it.
I agree with above comment about not being able to crack the wand head to pick stuff up, but I don't have a issue like that with mine.
Some will, some won't, and that is really okay.
I just want it to be a good swivel, that performs good, and lasts for guys that like them.

You're supposed to be vacuuming that crap up before wanding.

you could Warrnerize some PET cut piles and still pull pieces of lint when wanding.
But no, we don't vac every carpet.

and don't tell my friends, but we don't grOOm every cut pile either :eekk:

oh yea, and as mentioned, you have to work a little harder to keep wand stokes nice and square/straight to the world

Update

After five days of use I really got in tune with the swivle action.

Tom's design is very different than mytees in that the jets work from any angel. The mytee design would put the jets into the carpet and create back splash mess.
Toms swivle is also much stiffer, so cracking a side to sick up a dingleberry is doable.

The subtle action of the tilt really saves time and energy, especially on staircases. No the head does not flip to do risers

Tell me you don't like ball or swivle vacuum cleaners

Where is my utility belt?

an old crappy PMF. None of the new versions.

For us I don't see any future wand purchases, I see them only for use at the transitions and to edge where ever we can't get with an RE.

Wide head stair tool for steps and hopefully I can transition the crews to Zipper's for commercial HWE when we aren't using Encap with Cimex or Orbot.

So you are enforcing RE use in all homes?

Wow-wee!
You don't. If I cleaned its all I'd use. We do need to push our tech's to use it on every residential. I know some will say "yea but he is just and old fat man" They are right I am. But that is not why I am so strong for RE use. I truly belive you just cannot match the results of an RE no matter what wand you use.

This is the thing, a swivel is not a must have item and I KNOW that, is it something you need to run out and get...NO its not. I can say it does have some advantages...and the more you use it the more you realize as small as they are they are helpful, it makes some things easier. It still sucks bending down to get under things and the truth is that really is the least I use it for.
It is more noticed in this type of situation
IMG_20141222_102707754_zpsbd35a698.jpg
Or when your working your way down a long hallway...you are not bending your body so you can clean the wall your butt and back are against...you stay in a much more comfortable position and the wand stays square to that wall.
It is just a wand and it does take a little to get used to, but it does help in little ways that you really don't realize till you try it.
My first prototype had NO resistance to it and would flop easily from side to side, this I did NOT like because the wand tilt at the base board was almost not possible and pissed me off more than anything.
I have been tweaking it as I go and I have been working on the flow of the wand.... Mike may not realize this but this is NOT a WP valve. I have reworked this valve opening it up inside, I also machine a new piston for it myself on my lathe to give it more flow and a little better action...still not as nice as a WP but much better than what it is stock.
I sent Mike a 8 flow set up....he wanted 12, but with the mods I have done it flows what I feel is a true 8 flow....in other words the jets are really determining the flow of the wand, the jets are the restrictive part not the valve or the lines.
I know the head resembles to PC ti and it does, but the inside is not the same no inner attic or wings, I liked the height of the head as it is the lowest profile head out there making, it the best size to get under things when the swivel is needed. Like getting under this couch, now I wasn't trying to do some amazing job under it but this room was pretty packed and it just saved me from having to move other things to be able to move this beast of a couch it was very well made and heavy.

The CMP style head has been used in many types of modded wands I believe Greenie used it and now Joe Bristor is using it on his VT series wands.
This is just my expression/ vision of what a wand should be like, and how one should perform. I clean with it on all of my jobs and feel it does a pretty darn good job at it. I have also come to realize just like with the filter some will like, some will not, but I am doing my best,to give the guys that do buy it a great wand to use.
I would like to thank Mike for trying the wand even though there is some mixed feelings surrounding this wand. I did NOT send Mike this wand for any other reason but for him to try it for himself. I am pretty proud of it and I really just wanted to share it with him.
His statements that he is making are about the wand itself and are awesome, and I am very happy he is enjoying working with it, I also respect the reservations he has with it due to some of the things surrounding the wand.
I guess all I can say is if it comes from "US" Melissa/Tom Conway it will have my full attention and I will do my best to make sure it will be great for those that do buy it through us.
We are going to be working with TIM on things in the future as we are drawing up some things now...and we will continue to strive to make things as best as we can for all of you.
Thanks Mike and MB members for your input and support it is greatly appreciated
