Who would like to see a video on the types of water, and how they are different, and how they are made, and how they affect your cleaning? Obviously the elites here know but some may not know the difference. I'll make a video for those who would like to know if i get enough interest.

well water
city water
filtered water
soft water

Good idea, but there are a couple of others that have cleaning potential.

Electrolysed Water

and the newest

Ultrasonically charged Water.

Larry, I'm doing this video on water that people can buy and afford to generate at their shop or home.

Electrolysed water (electrolyzed water, EOW, ECA, electrolyzed oxidizing water, electro-activated water or electro-chemically activated water solution) is produced by the electrolysis of ordinary tap water containing dissolved sodium chloride.[1] The electrolysis of such salt solutions produces a solution of sodium hypochlorite, which is the most common ingredient in store-bought household bleach. The resulting water is a known cleanser and disinfectant / sanitizer but is not a surfactant (soap).

in short Electrolysed water reacts with salt in the water and makes a form of bleach so its not eligible for this and I personally don't thin that it would be a good candidate for carpet cleaning

An ultrasonic cleaning is a process that uses ultrasound (usually from 20–400 kHz) and an appropriate cleaning solvent (sometimes ordinary tap water) to clean items. The ultrasound can be used with just water, but use of a solvent appropriate for the item to be cleaned along with the soiling enhances the effect. Cleaning normally lasts between three and six minutes, but can also exceed 20 minutes, depending on the object to be cleaned.[1]

Ultrasonic cleaning is also not eligible in my opinion because it would take specialized equipment and would require the carpet to be in contact with a solid stream of water for an extended period of time to benefit from ultrasonic waves. Ultrasonic I also feel wouldn't work overly well because its typically used to clean hard materials that reflect or conduct the vibration caused by the ultrasonic generator, and the difference between the dirt and the rigid object is what helps the vibration separate the object being cleaned from the dirt or substance.

Also ultrasonic generators powerful enough to break oily particles off of rigid objects are expensive and require the object to be completely submerged for minutes to hours depending upon the soil, and density of the soil.

So I stand firm with my offer of the original water types as they are easily generated by the average cleaner/ operator.

Larry as a formulator of products and a builder of tm's I really hope you were kidding when you asked. You really make me feel a lot more confident in the Bridgepoint products I buy.

You need to look at the research on cleaning with the 2 water systems I mentioned.

They are both valid science.

I do understand that any valid testing is a big investment of time.

I look forward to any test results you do on the RO water effectiveness.

We do have some TM's operating with built-in RO systems.

Better rinsing with 50% of the water used by most TM's.

Scott, have you tried any of Larry's products?
have you tried any of bridgepoints products?

Well yes, of course I have. I'd say 99% of us at one time of another have or do have interlink products on the truck.

However, that's not really the point...

You really make me feel a lot more confident in the Bridgepoint products I buy.

You are ripping Larry's products(see above) and have never tried any of them... I'm simply wondering, if you have tried his stuff what didn't you like? What didn't work? Was it the packing nuts?

I have the capability to generate soft water, ro, and ro/di water for my van if need be. I have been testing ro water with Bridgepoints product line and see no difference in cleaning capability from soft water to ro water, I do however notice that I can use less rinse agent with the same results, as the rinse agent is not trying to over come hard water to become effective.

The main difference for me for choosing one over the other would be residue, specifically on tile. Nearly spot free would be nice.

Next month Mikey Board webinar will include som photos of how soft water versus hard water effects carpet cleaning. Also how rinses effect hardness / softness of water.

The testing I am doing for the webinar does not include DI, Ro or anythign else except hard versus soft. Because that is what I have time to test in more detail. It is also applies to the largest group of cleaners.

So Scott, ignoring price which water type would you clean with❓ Why❓
soft/ Ro. IF you run a lot of pure water it will actually degrade your metal in your water lines. but swtiching between ro and soft you can limit that and also keep mineral from building up in your system. Ro/Di water is very aggressive and will pull mineral form pipes, waste tank.
