Why did our industry migrate to the brass and stainless models instead of these plastic versions, with stainless tips?

I'd guess because at the time the plastics weren't as durable* as they are now and not able to stand up to heat/chems

Plus you have those O rings under that particular jet you've posted.. My spotter has that sh!tty jet that keeps plugging up from the PMF valve..

I run plastic air induction nozzles on my OP machine, puts out same volume but with the fines removed so not encapping my lungs

It doesn’t just vacuum out?
Must have used Releasit DS1 with tea tree.. Works well but almost got kicked off 3 jobs for atomizing it..
I would grind those to a nub in a day

This reminds me of being in jujitsu, and we had our dojo in the basement of the local, VERY small town airport.
We would start by running the length of the airstrip, barefoot, as fast as we can….
Then 100 push-ups, as soon as you got back inside.
If you ‘slacked’, or did girl push-ups, you were whacked with a bamboo katana.
Now, I’m Canadian.
The winter gets cold where I grew up…
I’m talking minus 35 to 45…
That dude would do it in record time.

they also have a nozzle body that the tips fit into which extends them bit more again.

never used anything from releasit family, but encap spiked with isop makes me gasp and wheezeIt doesn’t just vacuum out?
