why is this guy using a tile spinner on carpet?

Ive never saw anyone use a tile spinner to clean carpet, am I behind the times or is this guy crazy?

I use my tile spinner on entrance carpeting all the time. I think Bethel said where he is at they use them on weight room carpeting.
