I don't know Jim.

Silk broadloom in every room? That's kinda dramatic

wool-sisal blend ? Are they trying to ruin the carpet cleaning industry as well?

And what is synthetic jute padding?

I was excited to start reading this article, but seeing the designer's opinion on the types of carpet suggested above has me worried a bit

Separate the reasons for wall to wall carpet to be used from the fibers mentioned in the article, and you'll feel better.

There is a trend toward wool-tencel and wool-sisal in designer carpet, but that is still in the somewhat smaller (though attractive) upscale marketplace.

I am seeing more wall to wall wool as the only fiber used in the marketplace, but that isn't as problematic as wool blended with cellulose or regenerated cellulose fibers.
