The biggest pain in the winter around here is when I pull in the driveway and it has a slight coat of ice or snow and I go in to see the job and i come out and find my van has slide down the drive way. It has always stop when it gets to the bottom but it happens at least 2-3 times a year to me. Parking brake on and everything.

As for snow on the hose just depends how cold it is as for how much i try to clean it off but it is no big deal.
carry a small bag of salt, or put salt in a 5 gallon pail and sprinkle it on before you pull up, or at least behind the tires.

you could use some sand too. that would probably be alot less mess.

buy an adapter kit and hook up inside the house.
I have one, but I hate to drag a garden hose in their home . Sometimes I will if my water tank runs out of water. Their are a lot of large homes in the town that I live in , over 10,000 sq ft.

I had a similar event occur this past year. Nightmare! The lady's basement got a couple of inches of water due to a broken pipe behind the spigot. Of course it was all my fault. I sucked the water out, dried the basement best I could and handed her her check back and left.

The carpeting looked outstanding too and was trashed beforehand. During her ranting the said that she was conflicted because she had watched me work so hard and that the carpeting looked so good.......but......

She won't call me again and I'm more than okay with that.

I used to use a 50ft florescent orange air hose as an emergency back up to connect from the kitchen or bath sink to my garden hose which I had outside the front door to the water tank. It was very light and only cost $10. I had shut off valves at each end so that I could wrap it up in the house without dripping to keep it as clean as it would stay.

I just use my spare TM hose which although is 1/4" 100' line, is always clean, and being Parflrex is lightweight. Takes a while longer than 1/2" garden hose but doesn't make a mess and doesn't drip.
