Both, the talent pool is nothing to write home about.
But we dont pay $hit and most of us (99.9%) dont train and supervise enough.

We did a flood for a rental store 70 miles away today in Camden TN. Ate lunch at a busy family restaurant that had NO cell phone signal.

Was actually a pleasant dining experience...people talking to each other.

You send guys out by themselves after only 6 months. We get nervous sending a guy out solo to do a single job that has been here 2-3 years.

I used to work -for a short time- for a 14 van company... Omg...I couldn't handle it more than 6 months. The guy sent out the brand new hire after "training " them with another employee for a day or two.
A stereotypical low life, no vacuuming, pressure sale company.

Back on track now, after some minor Re-training.

What happens in commercial sometimes is my employees conspire with their staff and find reasons to NOT do something.
"Oh they said dont move that because then they have to put it back in morning". Yeah too bad... its their job.

first time out at a pizza hut with genny, i saw her standing behind me and i said "hey instead of just standing there why dont you find something to do". not realizing she was waiting on me cuz she had already moved all she could.

she said "i can take my happy ass and go wait in the van!

she still pulls the hose out of my hands sometimes though. lol

i have mellowed out so much since that day. i had been ticking off a lot of people with my poor attitude but hadnt decided to change it till genny straightened me out. i really didnt realize how bad i had become.
