Where are you spending that hard earned cash these days to get new customers?
If you could throw money at it, where would you throw it?

If your answer is, "Word of mouth" I don't want to hear it.

Adwords is our big thing, but we need another big thing.
That works.

What % of your marketing budget are you spending on adwords?

I've been out of it for a few years now but we were doing upwards of 30% of our monthly budget on adwords across all services. Another 20% with Facebook ads and boosts. Another 30% with radio, the #1 in market for our demographic. No crazy numbers, marketing budget was under 4% of sales.

A quarterly spend with EDDM but that was generally targeting air duct cleaning clients.

We're spending about $1500 per month on Adwords.
Hoody takes care of the website and SEO.
Can't get on Angie's here because they're at the limit with this service.
Next up - Facebook.
Yelp = Zero here.

Not sure if they still have it but they used to have a 20% text overlay rule for images. It took some trial and error to accomplish what you want within their guidelines.

Sometimes it's hard to spend the money you've alloted for that ad. Facebook will continue to send your ads if people interact with it. However when they don't your ads won't get sent and it may complete without using all dollars allotted.

We're going to put a pro on it.
Probably start it first of March.
We've tried our hand at it a few times without good results.
Best to do what you're good at, and pay others to do what they're good at.
Lessons learned.
