I'd just let them know you'd be glad to work for them but unfortunately your quote is solid. Reiterate your qualifications and reference your "Best of" award.

Thank them for considering you and let them decide if price means more to them.

" so would you please make the adjustments on your estimate to reflect the quotes we got from other companies, we really want to use you.."

"Also, we like that you can do it all in one day, the others needed two"

Ok, now I've heard everything...
Ok I might be able to beat that. We had a lady call for a cleaning. Told us some other company quoted less. Told her we couldn’t match it. Explained why. She went with the other company. They did a poor job. She called and asked us to come do it for the difference in the cost. She stated I can not spend any more than what you originally quoted.

I’d just paste it in a reply email. Maybe if he reads what he wrote something will click

I bid a tile and grout job in a convenient store for $500 once. The manager told me he was thinking $300. I told him $500 sounded better to me. He told me I could think about it on my way back to my shop. I told him once I got in my truck, I wouldn’t think about it again.

"If you can't afford to do it right, how are you going to afford doing it over?"

Now that I'm done being pissy and bought more coffee - all is right in Hoodledink World again. A lot of truth to that, Lee. When I was cleaning I would provide quotes and they'd ask us to beat it and we just put our foot down and held firm. Sometimes it depended on our cash flow at the time. We also explained that if we have to come in and fix someone else's work it requires more time and materials and it will be more expensive than our original quote. I believe there is a fine line between charging more to prove a point and charging more to ensure your profit stays where it needs to be.

I deal with the same thing in my internet marketing realm of things. People use competitors or people from outside the U.S. all the time. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes not so much. I've been steadily increasing pricing each year so sometimes when old prospects come back they fall into that too. I've also been honoring prices from 5-6 years ago that clients have been locked in at.

I couldn't get him in next week so now he has to go elsewhere...
50/50 he calls and wants on the schedule when you have room.
He just seems like someone that can't believe a Carpet Cleaner is on his level.
Get this with Lawyers and Doctors but not Dentists.

just had a customer last week. Actually was a tenant for a high end duplex where the owner only has me clean the carpet. Even on the phone he said my price was high. When I got there he asked why I was better than Stanley Steemer. After awhile I learned that he frequently moved and always had Stanley do his carpet. I didn't have 45 minutes to explain all the reasons why I was different and don't even remember what I said as it caught me offguard. after I was finished he told me that if he was staying in town, I would definitely be his cleaner of choice.

This happens all the time with new customers. Sometimes you just gotta show people.

Most of the time, people who use the large franchises end up paying more in the long run, after the sales tech gets through with them.
