I get irritated with all the sand I see that gets into my Gate Valve.... I literally need to take it apart every job to clean out where it seals.... I like the way US Products has the hose and cap on the Flood King...

Vacuums in parallel stacks deliver the most CFM's...

Vacs in parallel do generate the most CFM but only with an open hose.

However, when you have a narrow slot against the carpet fiber,

LIFT developed determines the CFM thru the head of the wand.

Our new portable extractor has dual 6.6" Lamb hi-Airwatt vac motors with 212" water lift (thats 15" hg.) & 140 CFM.

It also has the flex tube for waste water drain that Nate likes.

I would hate to use one everyday again but will always have one in the vans... leaving too much money on the table without one. Florida Beach High-rise Condos being one example. I like the Nautilus machine and being able to switch from parallel to series vacuum in about a minute. Built like a tank...stainless steel hardware, 1200 psi, pump in and pump out... So water damage/ carpet cleaning, tile, carpet and upholstery...whatever.
Heavy would be a negative...though it has added wheels to top of machine to make getting it into and out of a van easier.

We like a high GPM pump that sprays @ 500 PSI with a full 2 gal./minute flow.

We use the 500 PSI setting for TM wands as well as TurboHybrid.

Our experience with higher PSI pump systems is that they overheat quickly when extracting carpet, causing seal failure.
8300EZ.jpgThis is the wand we like for portable systems: 12" Bentley Head, 2 jets, Bentley Assist Handle, SS Glide, or opt. PTFE Glide:

There is a 500 psi version. I have used the 1200 psi version on several occasions and no issues. It's in our local supplier's rental equipment and he tells me it's his most reliable machine. Not a knock off so maybe you haven't had a chance to actually use it or see it.

Just a couple of observations:

Castex developed the "gate valve" series/parallel vac system many years before the machine you are referring to (attn Jimmy L )

The vac motors in that machine are rated @ 368 air watts each

versus

our extractor vacs that are rated @ 625 Air Watts each.

That is 80% more actual air moving power output.

So WHO is doing the innovation . . .

I didn't say the Nautilus portable innovated anything. They just built a very solid portable that I like. period.
Mikey's Olympus 1200 would be my second choice and maybe because of the better price and size might be my next portable.

The problem with machines having 500 psi@2gpm is that along with 2 proper 3-stage vac motors, you will need a 20 amp circuit for 1 power cord. Not always available. My pumptec m58 gives me 500 psi at 1.5 gpm at 2.74 amps. When both vac motors are running and vac hose is connected to the wand, each vac motor drops to aprox 12.5 amps, keeping me at that 15 amp range.

That's with your Aluminum beast?

Yep, 2 cords. 1 takes aprox 12-13 amps, the other approaching 15. I use an separate inline heater with it' own cord. I normally use a 4 flow with it but can go to a 5 maintaining 500 psi with the trigger open. 4 works best with heater. I have enough amperage left on the 1 cord to put an apo if I want but with 20 gal recovery, I don't really need it.

New 6.6" Lamb tapered fan vac motors are much more efficient . . .

allowing the same 15+ amp draw with the new Cat Pump & motor.

I personally get happy thinking about when the day comes to purchase a truckmount my choice would be the Butler ( lease deal) 3 year...or.... and really leaning toward A JUDSON MAX C.A. propane Engine and little giant in a Nissan NV cargo...however in the meantime Rotovac ranger 24--1200 ..15 fresh duel 3 stage and a Mytee hog booster when needed (love that thing )....adapters for dryer/stove , and Be-9000 generator ...I love this business and you guys have been a great help. Oh and it's way more work on the porty set up ,but it doesn't bother me I just enjoy it..also have a grill propane tank that runs a ez tankless 101 will auto fill the 24 holding tank with 120 degree water ( when needed) then the Mytee heater will get it so hot when done right will take your flesh off ez tankless fits on a dolly...with a seal-A-door the porch works

It can be done and you can get great results as you have proved. Does take a lot more work. When you are ready for the tm, take a good look at what your needs are and go from there. I use propane heat but it is getting harder to get every year. I will probably be going the way of slide in with heat exchangers in the future.

Thanks.... like most I started on a serious budget... and never stop studying and learning and that's how I'm spending all my free time... first day off I've had in awhile but this was a career change for me and I take it very very serious and at the same time I LOVE IT ... I'm getting excellent results I don't post often but when I do....lol.....anyway one day at a time ... but after all the research so far I keep going back to the Judson... and here in Arkansas no shortage of propane
