It's been years since I ran a Butler (excluding the MF's with Saiger).

I started on a Butler back in '99. The small company I started with trained me for about 3 days and turned me loose on apartments in the city of Charlotte, NC. I had no idea what I was doing or how to navigate a foreign city.

I almost put my wand through a window a few times due to lack of training in hose management but I obviously pushed through it. I remember the Butler being very easy to work out of and the performance being very solid.

But that was like 18 years ago!

What is my initial reaction going to be when I fire up the '02 Butler for the first time?

I'm very used to the Cleanco's performance because I've been running it for 4 years now. It does have the bigger 47 blower and the Max Heat option. I've been very happy with it's performance, especially in the suction department with my Devastator.

It is sooo dumbed down even a chimp can use it. :shifty:

In park, set the brake, turn off AC, flip on power, extraction, pressure. Start cleaning.

It has steady consistent vacuum & heat. You'll love it for its simplicity and performance!

I'm not even sure how it's going to be set up.

I've thought about putting a 100' length of 2.5" on the live reel and carrying in the 50' lead 2" hose.

I'm very rarely out further than 150'

I have a new Devastator that's set up for 2.5".

Should I use that on the Butler?

It is extra but most people add them. External filter.

Virginia Lake & Rancho San Rafael, Reno, Washoe Co (4/12-15/17)
I've been frequenting both these places
the last few days, taking photos and
noting the signs of spring.
--Virginia Lake--
New this afternoon at Virginia Lake was a
Snowy Egret on the island, my FOS at VL.
It eventually flew off but it or others should
soon be back as mid-April is when the
egrets normally take up residence on
the island. Also at the lake today was
a lingering Eared Grebe (which has been
around for weeks now), and a Western
Grebe, the Clark's Grebe resident at the
lake earlier in the month having apparently
moved on.
--Herman's Pond (Rancho San Rafael)--
Herman's Pond was recently stocked with
planter trout, attracting cormorants (there
were about 20 today) & Common Mergansers
(as well as a few human fisherman),
Yesterday, an Osprey put in a brief
appearance, flying off again after 10 minutes
or so--when after several failed attempts--it
finally managed to catch a fish (a planter
trout, what else?)
On the 12th, there was a courting pair of
Pied-billed Grebes on the pond, very noisy
with lots of mutual display; before then I
had only seen the occasional singleton. One
of the grebes was working on a nest in the
cattails with its mate hovering in the open
water a few feet away. [Or rather, 'nest',
since Pied-bills typically build several nest-like
structures before settling on the one in which
to lay their eggs.]
Other birds in and around the pond lately
included a drake Ring-necked Duck, a
female Lesser Scaup, a very
brightly-colored drake Ruddy Duck, and
myriads of Yellow-rumped Warblers
flycatching from the trees. On the 12th,
there was also a Black Phoebe. Male Red-
winged Blackbirds have been establishing
territories in the cattails for some weeks
now but I have yet see a female.

50 of 2.5 and 100 of 2" is perfect.
The only problem I see with that is having a hundred foot lead to roll up and hang in the van unless I try to adjust to rolling it all up and staying with the live reel like Butler intends.

I asked this guy which blower he had and he said "the grey one". He was serious.

I'm pretty sure it will be set up just how they normally set them up and definitely not Saigerized. Super nice guy who is retiring with his wife, out of the janitorial biz.

I don't think I've ever worked with it. Suction is incredible with clean filters on the Cleanco at 100' of 2". That's where I am a lot of the time with residential. If I'm going a ways upstairs or down then I add a 3rd 50 of 2".

My lead solution line is 100' because that's all I need 75% of the time.

I don't mind switching it up a little with the Butler. Sometimes there are small things that we can do to make this gig easier and more efficient.

When I started on that Butler back when, I can remember firing the machine up and running with the wand and hoses. Everything was live.

I had a stair hook on the end of the wand that I would use to climb the breezeways in that were prevalent in the apartments in Charlotte.

I dont think I was even prespraying...:eekk:

I sure was fast though!

If you rarely go over 150 feet with a 4.7 blower and are considering running 2.5 inch, I think you are over thinking things.

Reminds me of me.
I learned I was a "C" on the DISC profile at MF in St. Pete.

I overthink everything.

The 45's going to be plenty for residential and I'm sure great for commercial too, as long as I'm not stretched out hundreds of feet.

I had 50 feet of 2.5 on my reel for a few years. Took it off and just run 2 inch..............never been happier.
2.5 was just a fad. But if I had to run 300 feet I would use the 100 feet I have in the basement. But it's a pain in the ass to handle.

50 feet of 2.5 inch will help.

You won't be able to use the 2.5 inch on the live reel live because it is a 2 inch opening on that reel.

Hook up that 2.5 inch to the top of the tank and with no Butler external filter get Tom's filter.

I can help you with how to set up the hose on the reel to carry it.

We will be talking
