You may be right, in terms if deep cleaning, but I'm interested in appearance. How long will it take for the two to look the same ?
Same answer on appearance. A wand simply CAN'T restore the pile and fluff traffic areas like a RE.

When I tried the RX versus the Hoss, the Hoss was so much smoother and sturdier than the RX.
I like the fact that it does not have the felt ring.

Though on MF-10, the RV- xl seemed to have been better than it's predecessor.
Never tried the T-rex.

However those are all impression from a short demo run. And carrying a heavy machine up in S.F. ain't high on my priority list.

Actually, considering Chavez and Marty, it may finally set me off :winky:

I still wand almost all Berber.

Not a whole lot of pile fluffing going on with the Berber.

Get one Marty.

"Which one" seems like the question you should be asking.

CRAZY DEALS at last years fest on the Rotovac. Why don't you come down in April and buy one at a great price, after trying them out.

That little machine has changed what I thought was possible with carpet cleaning.

I've amazed hundreds of good paying, residential custys since buying mine 1.5 years ago.

Do your customers deserve less? ;-)

Because, after you factor in all of the travel, food and lodging expenses, it wouldn't be such a great deal.

I have an RX-20 and really like it
but Im thinking of selling it and going with the RV.
What are the opinions of people who have tried both?
I have the 360i and RX 20, the 360i gets used the most. I have not tried the XL.

Over time I have preferred the 175 to the RX20. Agitation without soaking and tearing seams.

I'll get one of the lighter RE machines, likely in April, to make work easier.

The RX 20 did not.

So what is the current freaking consensus about the best rotary.
Hoss
RV-XL
T-rex, Trex Junior.

Who tried them all?

everyone has there reason why they think there's is the best...

I have a handful of reason I think the Hoss is the best...

I cut my teeth on the RX and used it for years...great rotary...

I ran the XL in September at the Vegas show and I liked the feel and how it did...

Had the 360i..did not like that one at all...

I am hoping to run a Trex at the ICE show......

Never the less...low profile..flow bars..holds in the heat...flushing ability...best recovery...
I still think the Hoss is the best one out there.......

All good comments been made in this post so far.

I have also used RX 20's a lot in our past, but haven't used them as much due to weight and as mentioned, they put out a lot of water, but don't recover as well.

Agitation is nice especially on the job we had yesterday.

The RV 360 XL performed well, and I had some plugged and wacky performing jets I discovered (installed inline filter this morning on the unit).

It has some weight, but not as heavy as the RX 20's

The shroud around the head is flexible (which seems nice)

I like the low profile to get under things....

It does seem to dry well too....(we went over areas with our zipper wands to see how much more we could get out and it was not much)

We are going to keep using it and report back.

So far I like it....

I have only had the chance to run the Hoss 700 at a couple conventions, and it also is a nice unit.

So, I am still testing, but I give the Rotovac XL a thumbs up so far. :)

And for Marty, we actually did try the CRB and wand on this and the wand was slower and couldn't penetrate this thick nylon quite as well....but I will get some video when I can of similar situations.

The zipper did well too when we tested, but this thing was pretty bad shape, so it needed a lot of agitation, which the XL just seemed better on this carpet.

(Still love my Zippers too though:) )

So many Bright shiny tools in this industry

Jim;

There should plenty of demo carpets at the ICE show for comparisons between the RotoVac and TRex Jr . .

The light weight on the TRex Jr should appeal to Ofer going up those stairs . . .
Yeah, seems like the Jr. or RotoVac 360i might be a great fit for him. I really don't hesitate taking my 360i upstairs. It's like 40 lbs or something. Easy to carry. It can actually be carried 1 handed with some practice (I'm not the biggest guy either).

But the problem Russ, is some of these guys are like 80...... or close to it.... Just carrying a wand in is a big deal...

Mark, can you explain where/how you installed the inline filter on the RV 360 XL?
Thanks

I run Butlers so the female coupler is on the tools.....no problem running the quick disconnect and an inline filter on the unit. Doesn't get in the way....not even noticed, except for now no plugged jets :)

Today ran into a couple 15 year old white polys...

Need some good fluffing and agitation.

Brought in the Rotovac 360 XL and let her rip.

Also brought in the Zipper wands to trim out a couple areas and to test to see how much more water we could dry extract.

The XL was not too bad at water recovery....pretty impressed.

First 2 jobs today fresh painted walls.....Pins and Needles, but that's why we get the calls AND TAKE THE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS :eekk:

We had prevaced the job on Frida A LOT....and the RV still dug out more dog hair even after a good CRB.....dang....never even saw all this dog hair
