Go put a gallon of water in your tank and take the driver pads off hold the head level and slowly spin it with the trigger activated and see if water's coming out of the center spout of each head

looks like you just spread the dirt around

well, duh ..cause that's what it is.
you just need to learn how to get the dirt slurry down to the base of fiber at backing where it's not as obvious.

it ain't rocket surgery and it ain't "cleaning" either.
...If "cleaning" is defined as removal of foreign material

Spots and spills notoriously wick back after Cimexing in my experience. That makes two of us, and apparently only two because everyone else says it doesn't happen.

Yes, I have experience, yes, I've tried whatever product you're about to recommend, and yes I've tried the techniques that "guarantee" no wicking.

Honestly I think cleaning the same way every time and building good systems is key
Customers and employees always do the same thing and know what to expect
I think encap is something I want to learn more but not sure where it would fit in my biz

i'm still waiting on what the "bucket test" is

is it a comparison of same carpet with bucket from TM and bucket from rinsed pad....
Left to evaporate so you can "really" see how much soil was removed?

or sump'um else?

Is there a hands on class for encap only? It should be different from the normal carpet cleaning tech class

"look how dirty the washing machine water is"

IDGAS if someone pads (and owned and used a shake 'n shine machine long before you got a tingle in your loins from the vibration)
however, It shouldn't be classified as a "1%'er" job ..or even a 10%'er.
It's just "good'nuff" in some situations

I padded a home for abused kids yesterday.

Check out what came out of the lint trap...

Today I went back and hit some major traffic patterns that were already zippered with any cap and everything turned out great I think that’s a good combo
Make sure your employees are doing their dry passes. Wet pass one direction, then dry pass over the same area. I overlap by 2/3 of the machine width. So far, it's been working for me.

You are living in the past. Low moisture and encap is very much the present. And the future will look different still. Even Mike is seeing that there‘s a place for low moisture cleaning in residential. Options are always a good thing. Though some folks will stick to their old tried and true, as the rest of the industry moves forward.

Not that I really care about your assessment of my business acumen. But when we were in the thick of it, we were running 3 trucks nightly - doing commercial carpet cleaning. Wouldn't necessarily call that "part-time".
