I've never used that brand but it looks and sounds like Goodyear Neptune 3000.

Its great hose....up until black death. Alibi portables may not have that issue

Hot tm's will eventually wear a weak spot near the QD. When she pops she will spew hot molten black lava all over walls, ceilings and you clients furnishings. "Great Hose" NOT for most TM's.

I noticed you have 12'' wand glides for sale on your site. Which model wands do they fit?

The Good Year is fine as long at you keep and eye on it and or replace it as it wears or cut a couple of feet off the end when you first notice wear.

The constant bending just below the press is where it develops a weak spot. The water gets in behind the braided wire then you get rust and rubber cooking. Its a mess.

Just replace your hoses once every 1.5 years and then you don't have to worry about it.

You are correct in stating that a certain amount of "visual" maintenance/attention must be done when using---any---pressure hose only because of the nature of it and the Operators potential liability.

I understand what you are referring to in regards to the heat factor and what it does to the interior of hoses; however, many of our Operators using the JAGUAR 6.6, or 8.4 models will operate them off the truck and further use a propane heater to heat their water supply on the outlet. Fortunately, we have not heard of the problem you were honestly referring to. having stated that however, I believe that the Operator has to realize how long they can "push" (their luck) any product, again, as important as psi hose is to their operation. I do suppose there is more expensive hoses out there if the operator is willing to pay for it.

If you burn someone's kid because you went cheap it is going to cost you more then just money, if you burn the wrong kid, say mine, it might cost you more then you could bare..(bonus points to where that line comes from)

Its not necessarily in the room you need to worry about. Your usually the one that gets burned in there. It is the one in the living room or the one on the side walk the kids are playing hopscotch over

It can get bad. I've lost clients over it, been made to look very foolish and had to buy items damaged by black death.

We've also had to clean upholstery & area rugs for free and washed walls as well as paint a room.

We quit using it for years when it had sprayed a new (to us) clients freshly painted walls.

She asked "if you know this can happen why would you use that type of hose?" My response was one of the dumbest I ever said "Because its flexible and the technicians like using it". We never worked for her again.

We've used lots of others since but are back with it and just keep a very close eye on it and toss it at fist signs of wear.

600 hours or once a year for your main 150-200' for good year. you can safely double that for parker closer to 1500 hours but parker doesn't explode but the ends can come off if your running hight temp machines like Steam Way's or 4ht heaters. Most HX machines don't actually get as hot as the gauges say.

I hate the braided hose .. I was tired of leaving impressions on poly carpet. I use Par-Flex. What would be nice is to have a hide a hose. This way theres no worries. No carpet burning .. splashing black death etc..

and I dont want to hear interuption of air flow .. cause filters do that .. Right !!

We run Prochem's and Butlers and they both will cook those hoses over time.

Its not if you get black death, its when.

Black death scares the heck out of me. Parker is all I use. Snip off a foot on the truck end once a year and it seems to last forever. Way easier to handle when hot also. I can't even imagine trying to grab a goodyear hose when running high heat.

Not using thermoplastic(parker) is like asking something to go wrong. Not necessarily an area to save money. imo...

It's easy to stop the Black Death from spraying. My lead end has a piece of 3/4" Id clear hose 5' long over it. A hose clamp around the fitting and your good to go. The hose will last longer because now you have a real strain relief and the Black Death just dribbles out the bottom end. I can't be the only one doing it this way.

Letting hose freeze with water inside will cause black death.

Most poly hoses are NOT rated for the temperatures we use.

Don't know why anybody would use anything but Parflex. Lightweight, extremely tough, insulated (minimal heat tracks), no risk of Black Death. Only prob I've had with heat (240+ atm) is very rare, fine pinprick holes confined to the first 8-10 inches of the machine end of the hose. Easy to cut off and reclamp. My experience is those leaks only occur with newer hose. Once broken in (tempered?), they don't leak.
