Ofer what percentage of your clients have problems with perfumes in your cleaning solutions?
Do you think there is room for another product that caters to the chemophobes?

First I'd like to thank you for your honest, heart felt question.- Fooker 
My clients are not chemophobes, they just don't like perfumes. Mostly because, they still have a sense of smell.
Also, I don't need to clean with a scent called "Happy" for my clients to be happy. Their happiness is not chemically and scent induced, they're just delighted with the cleaning results.
I don't buy the perfumed products therefore, save a few, I do not buy most of Prochem's products. I like their "Dry Slurry" and "Fine fabric pre-spray", hate the smell. Why not make it without the stink and sell or give the stink separately in a small bottle.
My clients do not have problems with the cleaning products' scent because most of the time I do not use perfumed products. Clean does not smell.
There's always more room for scent free products. I don't know the demand, though if responses here are a testimony, quite a few are interested. Prochem though, in my experience, has never been very responsive to cleaners requests.
Maybe Laura will kick butt.

I think most of us (barring a decrepit foreigner
) have been brain washed into believing that "clean" has a smell.
Right or wrong, many clients comment on fragrances in our products. Positive when it smells (clean), negative when it smells of strong chemical (ammonia, organic solvents, peroxide, reducers).
When my wife gets ready for work she douses herself in perfume. Which to me smells great. She walks by and I comment at how good she smells....in comparison to how stinky she normally is.
*Please don't repeat that, that was simply put in for comic relief.
My point is, fragrances sell. Walk in any department store and some gal will offer to spray you...ummm spray any one.

I agree Richard, some people associate some smells with cleanliness. A faint smell of bleach for example, is so associated.
However, many people have allergic reaction to scents. Or plainly don't like it. I get tons of clients who are relieved that we use scent free products, so I am also a testimony that it sells. And I also have products with perfumes for refugees from the Midwest and the prairies. Mostly these products are collecting dust in the back side of the shelves.
Some people ask me if "Green" non toxic products actually clean. I tell them that they do. However I tell them that I have many more products in the van and "I can go as toxic as they wish". They laugh and choose the "Green" products

No need to initiate, many people call me because of it.
On the other hand some people think that "green" products actually do not clean well. And in certain situations you need some extra help. I am not dogmatic, if a situation requires a non-green product I will use it with the clients permission, always to be followed by a "Green Seal", "DfE" certified and fragrance free rinsing agent.

2 Factors make this decision very Important to us as we deal with so many different scenarios..
Cost & How well it works .. I will Likely boost the crap out of most of it : )
No one product will handle what is thrown at us out on there on a daily basis....
In my case I keep 3 detergents on hand.
Some of our work Requires Shaw approved type products
Some of our work requires a Nuclear Arsenal : )
Some of our work requires Anti Allergen No Smell wont hardly clean stuff : (
very little deals with Wool...scares me.
Everything gets Rinsed : )
I think I can say that Most would sacrifice cost for products that give us that extra bit of noticeable difference in the end.

I know we have a team looking into options / costs / functionality.
On a side note, I wanted to create a Carpet Cleaning App/Game for training purposes... I mean Farmville on FB was incredibly successful. Who wouldn't want to build their own carpet cleaning empire online and learn how to get spots and stains out along the way? Anyone want to help program?

So, when you use the term fresh? How would you describe that scent? I have asked a few people that recently, and was intrigued by the responses I received!

a lot of people associate a mild citric smell to being fresh and clean...some pre-sprays have the citric already built into them and as you put it down and start cleaning it put that smell into the air...
I could not tell you how many people have committed on how fresh it smells after I have gotten done with a job.....and to people...fresh means clean...
best example..pine sol..after you wipe your counters or what ever down... people say it leaves a fresh clean scent.........

Since I have no money on the games... I always root for the underdog. And for some reason everyone is rooting for Chi Town... so I will go Ducks. As they do start the series at home. Strangely this seemed quite fitting since at the gym today when I read the question... this song came on!
And since the other game is kind of a toss up, in my opinion... and I just visited Tampa... and have a difficult time rooting for any NY team... I will go Lightning.

I particularly like chemicals that make me cough, like coffee and tannin stain remover. It works but it is harsh.
