Pro 1200 SE suggestion

My guys tell me the blower exhaust scatters dirt/dust from the street all over them and the
interior of the doors. Why not an elbow that blows horizontally forward or back. There's nothing
I can see to conflict with the exhaust.

You can add an elbow to the bottom of the exhaust. I'll contact Ray and see if we can hook you up!

LOL. Nice poke Brian. I can see why they have that blower exhaust right out there in front for all the world to see like an unzipped fly. Putting it in the back would not allow for the wonderful space saving configuration it has. The side door of the Butler and the Pro1200 are similar looking:

But the back doors tell a very different story. The Sapphire provides LOTS of usable space for additional equipment:

Whereas the Butler has an obscene waste of floor space with it's 1982 design:

Cleaners need to be able to carry more than a wand and a jug of Scotchgard.

The first pic is empty

The second picture has shelving, tool box, hoses , fan etc

The only real difference is the Stainless fresh water supply tank hugging the wall. No water pond , but what I gain is a 210 waste tank so no need for a pump out or a demand pump for water supply

With a little organizational skills, all butler owners can carry air movers, tile tools, spare buckets, rotary extractor, upholstery and stair tools, all required chemicals, 100 ' of extra vac and solution hoses etc

I realize this thread isn't about sapphire vs butler but the " no room in the back of a Butler" is a myth by non creative or slob cleaners

That's not an " empty " Butler

Do you see the shelves on the left and the rear of the fresh water tank? Those are add ons that are not in the back of the Pro1200 picture

Again , the only configuration difference is the fresh water tank on the wall

This isn't that complicated

I've got that Grandpa Jones design in the back of myWhite Magic too Fred, with all those shelves and that big fresh tank. I would love to have more floor space. It really isn't complicated.

I haven't noticed any problems with dirt or debris blowing around, and we have a lot of gravel driveways around here.

It is awfully hard on a patch of grass if you have to park on it (usually when the customer insists and won't take no for an answer.).

Ricks demo truck has a curved outlet under the van. sounds a little different but still performs the same. outlet points towards the back so it doesn't catch rocks and debris.

They've been around long enough to hit the groove.

They don't but they both have silencers. the pro1200se does not, just a heat exchanger after the blower that cuts alot of the noise, the pro is remarkably quiet. it does have a 408 HeliFlow helical vacuum blower, the lobes are twisted like a screw to make the air flow constant, which makes for less chopping of the airflow.
if you have the pti option from cleanco you have a heat exchanger after the blower.

You can say Butlers are outdated, but the fact remains they are easier to maintain and run than any other unit on the market. Butler and Aerotech still support the first unit they built and they don't just stop supporting the units they made and say "screw you". The water ponds are installed in the vans half past the door post and low enough that you have to pull your vacuum hose over all your feed lines and water hose. Butlers are easy to run and fix. Fads come and go, we will see who runs the distance.

We will indeed in 2021 when the GM rear drive vans are discontinued and the D/D manufactorers will have to come up with a viable unit to operate in the Eurovans. Will Butler lead the way? Or will a more modern forward thinking company be the one? The slate will be clean. What I do know is time flies and five years will pass like one season. The customer on the first job this morning hadn't had me out in at least six years, since they had put in new carpet. I really thought it was only two years. It seemed like just yesterday..... she thought so too. It's funny getting old...

I struggle with lack of room also, Mark, in my old WM. I'm just glad Sapphire recognizes the needs of modern cleaners. I doubt Butler will ever change.... There is definitely an arrogance in their culture where they know better than some lowly cleaners how a truck should be laid out.

Art, Butler is going to have to get moving soon if they want to retain the market share. Sooner or later Butler will figure out a new design in a new truck but you just need to move to Aerotech, You can design it yourself and pretty much carry what ever you need
