....when I told her I wouldn't pay twenty bucks for this rug.

Customer is buying this rug from a friend of hers. She wanted it cleaned because "it's a little bit dirty here and there and there are a couple of spots"...and that "this was a massage therapist's rug.." (red flag going up in my mind, with all the possible massage oils and the unmentionable substance that in fine circles one would just refer to as: reproductive fluids)

She said she'll be paying around $300 for the rug and then she and the friend would split the cleaning cost.

I went out to look at it. Sure enough clearly visible where the table was set and the "traffic" around it.

And here is one where I opened up the pile to show how dirty it is.

Anyways.... She wasn't exactly thrilled when I told her that this might have a yellow haze even after cleaning (from all the oils). Zero promises for $150....and I told her to call the friend and work out a much cheaper purchase price.  she got it down to a hundred... LOL

Glad to help out where I can.

I told her to save the money for a decent rug and I'm not afraid to lose out on business.. But she insisted getting it cleaned "as best as you can"....and "we'll just put it under the table". Oh well....$150 is $150

That rug needs to go to a rug cleaning shop that has a Moore washer. No other way to get the traffic soil out of it.

Good luck. Get it dry as quick as possible to keep adhesive from wicking up the nap. (Will leave a yellow discoloration)

I will slowly extract it with truckmount and then float it on the drying platform.

Those darker areas will never come clean.

Look how shredded and damaged the fibers are compared to the other lighter ones.

I don't think that mix will cut through the oils... I will be using a bit stronger solutions. Not sure yet... as far as what.

Oh my...you should have seen this rug this morning.... LOL......it was browned our like someone aimed their explosive diarrhea and evenly distributed over the rug....while mixing faint pink dyes with it....I forgot to take a picture because I wanted to treat it quickly and had to run to my jobs..

Anyways....thanks to Cobb's "Browning and Coffee stain remover" liquid, I was able to improve on it.

I just hung it up to dry again this afternoon after I re-wetted it.

This is what it looks like. (before hanging it) A lot more even -as far as the color- than what this picture shows.

See @Larry Cobb , I don't always pick on you...I sometimes endorse your wares.

Wish me luck

I'm going to spend an hour messing with this... washing it from all directions and then leave it to dry.

Hey, that's a cool little tank the rug is in, what is it? Looks like some poly molded type thing.

The rug looks much better than to be expected. She got a good deal and should be very happy.

We built a slanted floor out of plywood and put black plastic pipes around on top and then laid the rubbery plastic sheet down. (wrapped around the pipes)

Years ago it came from the Ruth T. Jeff B. camp... (I mean the black sheet did)

Frank,

First I sprayed it down with my favorite cocktail (Procyon Trashed Green Peroxide) and agitated it with a big loopy white pad. (not easy to do  ) took less than 10 minutes... and left it drying till next day.

Next day when I had more time I put it in the washpit and sprayed it heavy with Flex (as inappropriate as it is...but I needed to cut all that oil before the US government decided to bring freedom). Followed by 100degrees 800psi single jet washing from multiple directions flopping those piles around.

Pushed the excess water off a few times...

Extracted with truckmount.

Drug it over to the drying platform to float it and put two extra blowers on top too.

Did you rinse the Procyon/TG the first day, or did you let it dwell till the following day?

I let it "dwell"... It was but a few ounces. I figured it might help for next day's washing.
