Sucking the cord can yank it so hard it snaps internally. Do a simple continuity check. One of your prongs will be dead.
Then inspect visually and by touch for a smallish lump. It is likely to be within one foot of the machine.
Probe with the meter probe until you find a place above that lump which gives you continuity on the dead prong. Photograph the internal connections so you can remember which color goes where. Cut the cord above the break, feed it through the grommet, strip and attach the ends. Done. 20 minutes of work.
