Products can have variances without losing the foundation of what they are. For example you can buy different levels of luxury in shopping for s new Ford F-150 (XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum Edition, etc...) fundamentally they are all F-150’s but the extras are not present amongst them all.

sorta kinda ...'cept selling products/widgets with tangible products/widgets added is one thing .
Service biz is another thing....
All reasonable folks understand salvage/restoration , advanced spotting, urine contamination, etc costs more

But how does one reconcile to the consumer the BlackStanVan value at 3 to 4 times the price of what the 49 other vans are doing?
advertise the full dog 'n pony show of corner guards and mint on the pillow?

or suggesting to your current bread 'n butter repeat base that maintain their homes regular, they've been getting a halfazz clean... and if they "reelly" want it clean, it's 3 to 4 times as much ??

see what I'm saying??

Harness horses.....
I'm telling ya it' really hard to change a pacer into a trotter.....most of the time they'll jus knock a hock off and become useless....
There' was a lesson to be learnt there

he caught the Mikey an Mark disease

Love 'em both fo-reel
But they're small O/Ops with a few trucks that have branded themselves as "hi-end" from the get-go

not a 10-20 40+ truck outfit that's brand is value price service

if CJ want's to transition his franchise to a DA Burns type brand outfit
(or what Howie P claims he does)
well and good

I'm just wondering how marketing two different polar opposite brands under one StanFlag brand would work out?

note...none of my comments should be construed as giving any biz advise.
(I'm not qualified )

just tossing some meAt on the table.....

some years ago rolex introduced a cheep brand for the everyman. There high end sales went down because now it was just an expensive watch that even poor people could afford. They soon discontinued. poor people want value, rich people want the dog and pony and don't feel there getting it unless they write a bigger check. Also rich people used to having strangers in there house and on there property all the time. That's what it takes to keep up there million dollar home, or now a days 10 million.

I think for Stanley it’s about doing a better job for the current Customer. Get better word of mouth marketing and less of the negative. Would help their advertising dollars be more effective and ring true. I agree with the Rolex comment... Mercedes did it with same results. Toyota on the other hand, spun UP Lexus.
High end cleaning is a specialty that requires time and patience... and minty breath. Volume cleaners are unlikely to find success there but CJ will likely be even more dominant in Stanley’s broad market.

How can you sleep with yorsef at nite?
Bob, people will spend 100k on home audio..... just to get that last 1-10% of performance..... why not on PROFESSIONAL CLEANING? I for one am hooked on high fidelity audio playback.... I’m 20k deep already... and I’m an ‘average Joe’... I’m planning on spending another 20k in the next year..... Peolpe want PERFORMANCE, QUALITY, there are people that want ‘the experience ‘....why not be THAT service provider?

I'm sure that Mikey knows me well enough to take my tongue in cheek comment in the lite it was meant. ....

Those here that know me know that I started out cleaning mansions on the
East side ..Edsel Ford ....Romney and quite a few more....however when I moved into the snake pit N Detroit. ...
I had to modify my working template..

So I had 10000 flyer inserts sent out
In a community newspaper. ...
WE'L THEY SCREWED UP.....and sent them to the WRONG zip code....THE GHETTO. ....I was livid....
Till my phone started ringing .
I soon realized that the south side was mostly little old black ladies that
Were on a fixed income and had pensions from their husbands work
AND the rooms were small..I could knock out 10-12 per day
And they ALL told their friends
I found the honey hole...fo reel!

EXACTLY why it’s good to have 2 divisions of ones company.... put a lackey or 2 on a truck, and you, yourself chase the upper end.... I’m setting up another truck this year.... put a guy in it to do apts, and 99$ specials.... I’M GOING WHALE HUNTING..... it’s out there.... how sharp is the spear? How accurate is your aim?.....

Besides live venues, it’s my way to relax at home.... my wife thinks I’m crazy.... I’m chasing the ‘sound’ that appeals to my inner ear.... haven’t found it.... YET......

With this group of guys you better specify what you mean. Some may think your heading to the bar to pick up BIG GIRLS.
CJ, I’ve been fortunate enough in my life to NEVER have had to go ‘WHALE HUNTING’ @ the bar....
