Man, what a day! Phone ringing off the hook, blew out my back teaching my little guy how to ride a bike, large jobs, and issues with my 870.

All I wanted to do today was get my jobs done and get home. My lower back is like spaghetti and everything is a chore. So, there I was today, happily cleaning when my wand stopped shooting out water. I ran out to the TM and started systematically troubleshooting. Checking the filters and switching among multiple water faucets and the kitchen sink did nothing. The water box was completely empty and not filling. Water was not running through the hose from the faucet. After some time I came to the conclusion that the water pressure at the house I was cleaning was too low.

My waterbox only holds 15 gallons of water. I ended up refilling it manually as I progressed through the house. See pic below.

I returned to my shop and started looking into the issue. The water pressure at my shop is excellent. I hooked the water up and nothing was getting to the water box. After some more probing, I decided to take apart one of my QD’s on my fresh water supply hose. What I discovered was amazing. That thing was clogged with all sorts of exciting things. I pulled out two screw heads, a corter pin, rubber hose gasket, bug guts, and a bunch of leaves. The QD was packed so tight with debris not a single molecule could pass. After a good cleaning, all was back to normal.

QD on live hose reel that goes to house.
Just for you @FredC and maybe Matt also. I unrolled all my hose to take this pic. I like this setup because it’s clean and easy to switch out if a hose bursts. It also makes it easier to change out the Swivel. I’m sure there are different ways to go about it, but I like my setup.

I’m still scratching my head how two screw heads and a cotter pin got up in there. Amazing.
Little kids sticking things in holes. That is why you don't give them a set of keys in the house. Turn the faucet on before you hook to it, would remove any debris also.

Replace that oversized blue hose with a high quality 1/4” air hose and double the length of hose for jobs that might not have easy water access and makes it less stress on a sink faucet

Dittoes on the screen filter in the house/hose connection. House water lines carry all sorts of particulates. Screw and cotter pins? Okay, that is a new one!

I had a line plug up at a newer building couple of years ago.

I actually don't hook into many outdoor spigots but a very large job and needed water.

I let the faucet run a bit before I hook up.... I didn't let it run enough here which would have been about 10 minute long as sticks and leaves made it into the hose and to a connector at the fresh water reel...

Now with that said, normally it wouldn't as I have a pre-screen o ring on my units... But it fell out earlier in the day and I didn't have a replacement....

I carry a 10 pack of them now!

I use an inline rv filter. 17 bucks at Walmart. It keeps all the crap out as well as chlorine, minerals etc. Makes the water pure. I got it when I lived next to a gravel pit. Water went from brown and unpotable to crystal clear and sweet. Charcoal is amazing. My paramedic friend has poured it down poison victims throats. It absorbs everything.

You haven't lived until you've laid in the gutter with an unconscious druggie, covered in his own piss and shit, pushing on his eyeballs to see if he's alive or faking being out. I pulled out a baggie of black-tar heroin from his pocket. Then the EMT's arrive and shoot him up with Nacan and he suddenly rises from the dead. A day I will never forget.

That was in Concord. I’m much happier in Redding. You’re charcoal comment made me think of that memeory. I also remember giving him CPR. I was in a panic because I had to use my CPR face mask which was burried in my “battle bag”. I remember thinking, “If I can’t find this thing in my bag, do I just let him lay here and die or do I risk getting Hep C.”
