Ok, then how do you get the dirt from the bottom of the pile?
I do encap weekly.
Every job I do, we prevac with a Proteam XP 1200, or, an 18” monster vac, fresh bag, HEPA filters pulled out.
Tell me then, how is it possible, when the company I subcontract for, vacuums daily.
We use a fresh bag on EVERY contract.
In 3-4 hrs, WE FILL A BAG....
They use a backpack vac, we use a well maintained, beater bar vac....
Where the fook is the soil coming from then?
FLAT FLOOR TOOLS, ARE FOR FLAT FLOORS,
NOT CARPET!!!!!
Why does every janitor argue this?
Is simple, use a carpet vac for carpet, and a FLAT FLOOR TOOL FOR HARD FLOORING.....
But, do what you want, I’ll keep running my system, and keep getting repeats, and referrals from my commercial clients...
Wait, I’ve got 42,000 sqft coming up this next weekend, but I guess I don’t know what I’m doing....
WHATEVER....

I don’t recall saying you don’t know what your doing. If you actually read my post before you hopped up on your pedestal I said it comes down to training. Studies have shown on CGD the backpack out cleans the upright. After you’ve been in business for 81 years you can talk to me about repeat work. Am I supposed to be impressed by a 42K job, I’m not.

But whatever works is great, I wasn’t saying your wrong, just stating my opinion.

Totally disagree. On CGD a backpack vacuum out cleans and upright vacuum by a mile. Now if there is a pile or maybe entrance mats I can see a beater bar vacuum being of interest. It’s all in the training, give either to an untrained worker and you get a poor job.
Flat floor tools pick up nothing but the big stuff.

If you check the brush roll on most vacuums in a commercial facility you would find that it is only brushing the tips. The vacuum is only working by means of airflow not so much agitation. The real problem with any vacuum in a janitorial setting is that the bags are not changed often enough, thus limiting their performance. Then when a carpet cleaner comes in who understands airflow and has fresh bag or clean filters in his vacuum whatever it may be, will do a better job.

Beater bar / brush roll..... Its the same thing...
I realize it's used universally now but a beater bar is a metal bar that use to be on many brush rolls back in the 70s. The theory was the brush alone wasn't enough to bring the dirt to the surface and had to be beaten like a rug.
I haven't seen a beater bar on a vac in over 15 years. I heard it damages today's fibers.

I'll let some one else respond to that.
There's earthquake brush rolls(probably the beater roll, works best with with high cfm vacs..), there soft brush roll, there pet brush rolls, theres cgd brush roll.. many kinds..

I grew up with brush roll and beater bar as the same thing. Even google search cant tell the difference..

I tried to find a beater bar on Google but couldn't.
I was A vacuum repair guy and salesman in the early 80s.

Im surprised that you so called pros dont know the difference. The Beater Bar is there to push the nap down on carpet that has a pad underneath. Then the brush following it lifts the nap. The back and forth motion gets the debris in the airflow and thus into the vacuum bag. However a Beater Bar is pretty much useless on a CGD carpet.
