Corona virus impact on business

“What do you base this on?”
Uh, science, and history.....
OK.

What history of different coronavirus strains show them mutating into deadlier strains beyond them becoming transmissible to/human transmissible? It is more likely a strain newly acquired by humans would be the deadlier "version" of this.

What science indicates that mutations commonly result in deadlier strains? Mutations are essentially mistakes in replication. Odds are against these mutations resulting in deadlier strains and these mistakes in replicating are just as likely to make it less deadly, harder to spread, no significant difference, etc..

Also in general the deadlier virus gets the less it propagates.

I just talked with my buddy that works for Service Master. Currently there are only three chems that are EPA approved for the Covid Virus. Service master has one of them called Serve-7 (or something like that, someone correct me.). Anyway, his company put in a large order for the stuff, and they can't get it. They aren't even sure if it will work right now on the "19" version of the virus.

I did find this web-page on the EPA's site. look how many chems are popping up for Corona as of 3/3/2020.

Uh, science, and history

help me with that, Jeff
'cause maybe I'm ignorant of the very latest

what "science" with regards to current data and research suggests this particular flu will be anything like the scenario you describe ?

we don't know everything about this virus, true
but we do know more than a little now to have pretty clear indicators

"history" ...what disease besides AIDS has been of historical proportions in the modern era?

Uh..Bob...I'm asking this in the deepest respect and understanding that you once led an ..."exciting life"...

What might have been your state of mind in 1972?

I don't remember any meat shortage.
Wit all respect Jim...right back at ya!
we had to cross the river to get a good steak dinner...

Jim;

Have you noticed a small (or larger) reduction in business in regards to chem, and accessories, but, not your major equipment such as machines? For us here, we only manufacture machines and thus far (fingers crossed) the phones have been ringing and sales have not been hit, yet. Reason I ask is there seems to be a fine line between the service industry and the manufacturing industry (for a short time). Wonder how the Auto industry will fare thus far.

But, in conclusion, I always feel bad for the Carpet Tech's in our industry who work so darn hard servicing their customer(s) when something such as this (Coronavirus) surfaces and cuts into their businesses. Hope things turn around in a short time for all of them!

Best to All.

I made no commentary regarding your intimate life Bob....only if you might have been in a state of altered consciousness at that particulary time.

Its been all over the place for the people I do business with, much as we've seen posted here.

Some are extraordinarily busy, some are just about shut down.

Mines ringing.. Jobs were booked today... No body has canceled as of yet......but because of how, fast things are changing by the day and some by the hour... Its going to catch us sooner or later... As like most... We have a lot of things in this town that have shut down.. All schools are down...

Vegas trip is cancelled...

Doubt anyone is surprised.. The whole nation is shutting down..

Except for the stores... We can go in them.. Bump into.. Push.. Spit on.. Run over each other and transmit anything from person to person and no one thinks twice about it...because greed seems to be more important..

We are our own worst enemy...

Jobs on the books this week but not much coming in. Also our largest account, which includes restaurants and movie theaters, is paused until further notice

DeWinner (he is a whinny beioch too) just "indefinitely" shut down a bunch more stuff

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has issued an order to indefinitely close gyms, fitness centers, recreation centers, bowling alleys, indoor water parks, movie theaters, and trampoline parks across the state due to concerns regarding the coronavirus

has already closed all restaurants except for take out.
Lowered limits on public gatherings from 100 to 50
