Anyone remember that machine that John Downey was using? It plumbed water right to a drag wand and pumped it out again right there as well. Might be the best tool for this type of work if they're still available.
A steaming demon?

the pump out on my steaming demon would fail sometimes and overflow.

All the jobs are on the 3rd, to 19th floor of a series of ‘green’ buildings. There is no TM access within 300’ of the front door, let alone up to the 3rd, let alone the 19th....
It’s all porty, all the time for me now on evenings and weekends.... I’m going to get to know my Monsoon very well....
I am also going to see how well it’s cleans upholstery. One account has asked if we can also clean 250 office chairs....
My gawd, why do we try to be everything to everyone?????
Bane with little giant heater on a dolly and a rotary.

I’m running an AW 29 with a 3 flow over 50-100 feet. I notice a difference with the flow, not so much the vac....

I noticed you have been on MB for many years now.
I now Proclaim you worthy of a better wand. 😜
Time to take off the training wheels.

I recommend either the Devastator 15 inch swivel wand or
The HydraMaster 2 inch Evolution wand.

I like the Devastator for when I need to clean around or under a lot of obstacles.
We prefer the Evo wand when cleaning wide-open areas and want to get done faster. This Evo wand will also make your porty perform better.

:headscratch: 3 flow!?--- That's practically dry cleaning. :eekk: .

Dump the pump, go tap pressure with as much 3/8" hose as you need. Better heat better flush.
Bigger jets if you can, six flow at least.

Proven proven proven!!

with the right adaptors- you can go faucet to wand with a garden hose.
This is what I do with I want to use my Airhog like a Rotovac CFX

45 to 80 psi is the range for household water pressure-- many set it at 60 psi.
Those machines rely on Flow more than PSI.
I've been pleasantly surprised with the results when I use my Airhog like a CFX.
The Steamin demon frustrated me too much.

A $100.00 dollar pile lifter is just that usually. I have refurbished a few, and most are seized up from sitting, cloth bags are toast, brushes are flattened, vac motors squeal and chrome can be pitted if it was in a damp environment.
Parts are available and they are an industrial workhorse that don't get respect they deserve. All you patriotic Murcans should be beating the drum for a quality American designed and built machine.

I paid $50 for one that I've used for years. Finally the bearing on the brush have gone. I can buy a new brush assembly with bearings. Certified pile lifter.

Water pressure can vary in different parts of the towns and cities in my service area, but I barely noticed it when I am hooked from tap to the RVJR. What I did notice was even though I choke down to 1 jet on the unit, I could run the heat out of some water heaters. I run interchangeable heads setup with one jet only in 0.5/1.0 and 1.5 sizes that get swapped out depending on carpet type and severity of soiling.

Yes, I got one back on trade for a refurbed unit last year which I had sold to a property management. They can take a beating. The trade-in even had an idler shaft that the bearing seats to pooched. Somehow the aluminium toothed drive sprocket and keyway managed to move and widen the shaft detent.

What types of carpet benefit the most from using a pile lifter? I know the new age polyester would be a waste of time and energy.

Any carpet with embedded soiling and matted fibres. I don't know about encap or situations where you can knock it. I've seen my share of beach sand.

Even on those poly carpets it will do a good job of combing and lifting the pile. Pile lifters are not necessarily the best vacuums but that large cylindrical brush really gives the carpet a good working over.
