When acid is the preferred method on absorbent wool that the
IICRC teaches us, it's obvious that it should be the best and quickest method on aDsorbent synthetic. These guys on here still want to waste time trying to feed enzymes.
Sort of situational though. If it was an extreme situation where pad replacement wasn't happening and it was over subfloor, we would sometimes inject enzyme(Un-Duz-It back in the day) first to get the breakdown process started. Especially on older/higher frequented urine spots. Then acid w/ dwell, flush, then oxidizer.
I think enzymes have their place for situations and they tend to work better than just fufu spray and leave behind pairing agents. But a lot of the enzymes have oxidizers in them so it is a 2 for 1 deal for the staining, so I get why people use them. Especially if you have techs to make it less complicated.
I just have a little spotting machine and when our dog had accidents while potty training. I absorbed as much as possible with a towel and put a 30 lb kettlebell weight on it for a day. Then came back with some Pro's Choice UPT and rinsed with procyon and some odorcide. Haven't had wicking or residual odor issues. But could definitely tell the UPT was breaking up any residual salts when I first applied it.
