I'm going to do a bid for a hospital for some carpet cleaning and tile and grout. I'm not sure on size of the areas but I will measure today. What are questions that you like to ask that help you with the job?

time schedule/access/how soon does it need to be back in use?
(within a couple/few hours, over night or weekend )

clear understanding of what they want/expect/need moved.
(if applicable, will they be moving and replacing, or will you, or something in between)
Clear understanding of they're biggest concerns/problem areas (if applicable)

Expectations and time frames have been discussed. Basically Friday night till Monday morning . Concerns were also addressed i believe them to be mostly traffic areas.

I'm working with one manager and we will do it all in one shot. Hopefully everything goes smooth.
The one I do bit of work for, paediatrics is generally quiet over weekend with ok access (the mums dont appreciate it, no identifiable uniform worn lol)

High dependancy/emergency never shuts, just get setup and they shut you down with an emergency.. argh!

mental health and oncology are generally shut with full access over weekend

The IICRC has a standard for doing commercial work that lists EVERY concern you could think of....
Thanks Mike! I know the SFS has some things also but I feel it's always best to talk with the people that have done it also. There's some tile repair that I really could have used your course on. Hopefully when the world isn't on fire I can attend your class.

I would say that I have a lot of experience with hospitals and mention that you would like to work with one “manager” on this project

Then I can focus on my staff and cleaning and the “manager” can communicate with their team and schedules.

When I come in everything will need to be ready and no staff can be on the areas I’m cleaning

I know it sounds demanding but that will help both of us with liability and making sure the job comes out it’s best

I also would like to know where the closest access points and water sources are to those points.

good luck with that, doctors and nurses are there to be doctors and nurses.

You will have to lift rubbish bins and chairs, and they will be walking in and out constantly

even the departments that are shut to patients are generally staffed with them catching up on paperwork
