Added a 2002 GMC with a Cleanco 47 to my decrepit fleet. Will have 2 old trucks for sale soon fairly cheap. Willy, is it time for a truck mount yet?

Do you suffer from self-loathing or do you buy junk because you’re broke?
I just don't like spending $80,000 when I can spend $6000 for the same thing. Since I can repair a lot of stuff myself, it just makes sense. I've seen guys here with brand new units that just won't work. Couple of guys named Sam and Mark come to mind. How many days of down time.

Nice! How many kms & hours? Any options on the van? PW cruise, tilt or is it standard?
Just a basic van. No power options. 300,000 k and 5000 hours. Van was very well maintained. I'll post some pics after I get the old signs off. Have all the service records. $6000 total. Drives smooth, new brakes, tires still good, no large scratches or dents. Cleaning unit is in good shape, one of the cleanest I have seen for its age. Will be using this along with my cds in my astro van and selling my 2 slide ins.

I’d like to buy a used van as a backup.
I thought of buying a connect or nv200 for low moisture equipment.

The only downfall I’d have is not having my TM on pet jobs or something like that.

I picked up another van after Jon-Don had my van for a week after quoting me a couple of hours. 94 E-250 with 60,000 miles. Spitfire 23 vanguard and 46 blower. It came with the single jet hydra hoe or whatever its called that jon don was selling for 450.00 bucks.

I buy new stuff because I’m stupid. Or smart.

I work among the rich, so appearance matters.
I work with many rich people as well. They don't always expect you to have a brand new van. I used to have a beat up Chevy with a hydramaster CDs in it as a back up van. Little bit of rust on the rockers and the paint was pretty faded. I put some lettering on it myself, just a little bit crooked. I'm driving down the road and get a call from a lady who saw me go by. Booked the job and it turned out to be a huge mansion in our Shaughnessy area where all the old rich live. Job was almost $1000. I asked her why she called me when she saw what kind of van I was driving and she said, "it looked like a working man's van".

Great find for you. I used to have a backup Van and TM.
Know I have a friend and we just help each other out if the need arises.

Who ever is down gets his jobs done after we double team on the van we are using.

Robert Pickton was a millionaire. He never had his carpets cleaned.

I remember a guy who had a truck mount in a pickup truck at Mel's for repairs. He seems to be doing just fine.

As long it dont leak on their pavers, most generally dont care about your van. I learned a while back about the value of not looking expensive. I appreciate the work of kettering logo branding that he did for many cleaners. The way they look appears richer than your clients. I wonder if thats potentially counterproductive and detracts people from calling you. Even millionaires get put off about it sometimes.

Your van should always be neat and clean. Paint touch ups are easy to do. You don't want any unsightly dents. Most vans accumulate minor imperfections over time. As long as it looks good from 10 feet away, you should be okay. I like seeing nice wraps like Saiger and even Marty's . I'm sure it does bring in business and it's a nice image to have. I get people asking for my card as they walk by my back up van with magnetic signs.
