ever heard the phrase "make a good first impression" ?

if they see you pull in, that's their "first" impression

..L.T.A.
Most of the time they don't see you. As long as the van looks presentable they don't care what year it is. If the carpets clean up great, they care even less. Not to say you can have a ratty looking van, just doesn't need to be brand new.

Sure i do.

My van aint perfect. It got rust on top front and dent on the rear. When bill paid off, i will get a transit or find uhaul truck.

But the way i dress and my personality makes them forget all about the van if it ever was issue...

Here's a couple of pics after I got the bulk of the signs off. Needs some touch-ups and a cut polish, some new signs and she's ready to go.

Regular is short. Extended is long.

Six lug is usually half ton, 1500.

My 2500 has 8 lug like the 3500s.
I see 2500's with both 6 and 8 lugs. Not sure why. Definitely a 2500. Not a fan of the extended ones. Too hard to park around here. Lots of room in the back for extra gear. Contemplating a fresh water tank. Don't really need one here but it's a nice option.

I have a '99 3500, '11 2500, and a '13 3500, all 8 lug.

Shopping backup vans the only 6 lugs I saw were 1500s.

That may vary by year model, will look it up.

I picked up another van after Jon-Don had my van for a week after quoting me a couple of hours. 94 E-250 with 60,000 miles. Spitfire 23 vanguard and 46 blower. It came with the single jet hydra hoe or whatever its called that jon don was selling for 450.00 bucks.
94 with 60,000 miles? VERY NICE FIND!

Friend of mine has an e250 extended with 365,000k on it. Been thinking about it as a back up but the mileage is a bit to high. Although it starts right up and runs pretty darn smooth. Never used it for anything other then janitorial cleaning from building to building but it didn’t work out for him so it’s been parked for the last 2-3 yrs. Body is decent with minor rust in one area. He wants $2,500. That to offer no more then $1,000–$1,200.
At what point is too much mileage?

My neighbors set up....the van looks just as bad on the outside....looks even worst in the cab.

Helped him out one time on a job he couldn't finish cause his rig clunked out on him. Calls me up and ask if I could finish for him. I got there, he had left. The lady of the house was relieved to see me. She said he insisted on her to come outside and see for herself that the TM had broke down. She said when he opened the back door, she was a-gasp to see how junky the van looked and the machine leaked everywhere. she felt sorry for him.

Never show your client your junk....and yes a little neatness and clean van is noticed by the homeowner.

Think about a 55 gallon poly drum for a fresh tank. Put a float shutoff valve in the top with a live reel supply hose. You will always be full if ya hook up when convenient. I can do about 8 rooms with the 50 gals.

Put a deck pork hole in the top to install the float.
I will post pic of my tank when I get in the van

Do you suffer from self-loathing or do you buy junk because you’re broke?
I dont know about him but i buy and use "old junk machines" because they operate better last longer than the new shit produced. Heres a pictures of my new old machine its a 1998this is what $11,000 gets me in state of the art old shit and should still be running in 2040! Its the best of old and new

That is an awesome build. Did you have the 'Bawbaguru' looking over your shoulder? These Genie's really are a work of art!

This thread and a couple others are motivating me to put my 2002 WM in something else. Might start pulling out soon at least.
