Just did a small job this morning in a very ritzy part of town. Asked the lady how she heard of me and she says that I am highly spoken of on a local Facebook group. I have no idea what group this is and I am not in it but it's nice to know that my customers are referring me like that.

Get ready for more calls. Very powerful niche. Small town or part of town, the hackers dont get mentioned in those groups. Great place to be!

A few points about local FB groups and building your service business:

1. Remember that it isn't your personal page. I see a lot of cringeworthy posts from cleaners about personal matters, disputes with neighbors, family, local authorities, etc. This sort of thing can be very damaging to your reputation.

2. Don't engage in disputes or passive/aggressive cryptic statements about experiences with customers that you may have in the area.

3. While it should be obvious, resist making comments about politics, or personal views about most anything.

4. On a more positive note: Make posts supporting other local businesses, positive community events, and volunteer yourself in doing things that support/improve your community. Just dropping ads on the page won't help you nearly as much as you being perceived as a contributing member of the community.

When a customer pays with Venmo and the purchase is made public it will automatically advertise to other venmo users.

I hate to mention this, but I remember Ron Lippold didn't separate his Facebook personal from his business page.

He was conservative, and pissed a few customers off who saw his posts.

After you forced me to use Venmo, I tried it six or seven times in both directions and it was always a pain in the butt so I gave it up. But do you mean to tell me people saw a review or mention of you on Venmo with nothing other than the app to back it up and they called?

Yes.
Maybe give Venmo another try now that you are less egotistical. Or is that personality trait only for your marriage? :stir: 🤣🥰
Venmo is easy and free to use as long as you Do Not need your money immediately.
