my 47 has been very good to me since 2003. I bought the high heat roots.
drained, cleaned her up, refilled…sounds and sucks better then ever. A few extra bucks for oil verses $3k plus new replacement well worth it.
Was quoted $1,200 to drop off and have my 47 serviced/rebuilt. my have it done at some point but runs great at the moment.

Where do you buy Roots oil? I don't dispute the wisdom of using the best when you can find it
I think now you're just splitting hairs now if you look at the picture of the aeon bottles 1 says gardner Denver which is sutterbuild it's like pump oil , i have a hypro pump but i use cat oil in it instead of hypro oil because i can get cat oil from home depot and id have to special order hypro , it is more important the frequency of service intervals than which brand of blower oil you use when i built frankinstien i retired a 47 blower that was new in1991 and passed down thru 3 machines and has approximately 14,000 hours on it but i changed the oil in it every time i changed the pump oil 500 hour intervals

Look at the big brain on Nate.....veryAll I know is non-detergent oil, and use oil with Zinc in it if possible.........?
But the genies never turned over what...15-1600 rpm's?Look at the big brain on Nate.....very
Good.....however I used 30 wt non-detergent for over 40 years...never lost one....gave one away once tho!
The driveshaft turns about that, frankinstien is set at 1300 engine rpms driveshaft rpms are 1850, blower is 2950 and that is around the same for my stock sg 45pto. Other steamgenis were screamers the hydro 1 & 2 spun the blowers at max 3600rpm. The hydro1 had 2 blowers in series one blower rammed air into the other, blower #2 got really really hot. The blowers on the 1&2 where pretty small back then , sutterbuild 3mBut the genies never turned over what...15-1600 rpm's?
Olive oil probably would have sufficed.
thx for your input bro....stay in touch.I think im gunna drop out of this conversation at this point, as for me an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure , i put chevron 91 in my shelby and aeon in my blowers,if you run anything else and it works for you great,as for me good gas and oil is really cheap insurance, after all, your only as good as your tool
