This got me ignored. He thinks im butt hurt because i blocked a couple idiots instead of continuing to piss them off with my replies after he said he didnt want all the arguing.
Im really not sure what comments he thinks i was offended by.
Its just more of his warped perceptions. Its never him. His ego is too big to let that happen.

Hey dikhead (like unko Rico would say), friendly fire my guy....... If one of the rules are being good looking and having not 1 but 2 Steam Genie's, then I'm guilty as charged!!

My wife throws me under the bus daily....
I thought you threw them in the ocean.....

Sooo..you really DO has a trailer....now how did i know that?

I also gotta van with a CDS 4.8 mon. This thing is sweeeeeet!!! My trailer might have deformed tires from sitting so long now. I just installed a monster heat exchanger from Blue Baron and I learned today that smokin heat is truly the best spot remover. They melt away and disappear right in front of your eyes! Just pipin hot water and my basic detergent!

Woody doesn't like it if I call it a pre-spray, now I don't either he ruined it for me. And I feel a bit gay if I call it pre-conditioner. Just calling it detergent doesn't work because almost everything is a flippin detergent. I'm still at a loss of what to call the most basic thing that we use all the time 😐

Shoe covers are like lipstick on a pig.

And they are trip hazards.

If you really care wear gum bottom soles.

I will say that in my first few months doing this several customers asked me to either take my shoes off when I entered their home, or gave me shoe covers to put on, literally. I then realized that since I have ambitions to go multi-truck in high end residential, I'd rather not be prideful but respectful to people's sensitivities. Despite the fact that the majority of peoples say "meh don't bother with those things".

If I was content with remaining an owner operator and working until I am really old, then, well... To each their own way!

I just take em off before I go on staircases, never slipped on flat ground.

Cleaning solution

But everything is a cleaning solution, pre-spray falls within that category but isn't distinguished from other more specific spotters and things by calling it a cleaning solution.

Well alright, but then it makes me wonder if we clean anything besides traffic lanes with it. Maybe some consider everything that needs detergent applied to it a traffic lane. Seems like cleaners use the term traffic lane for where there is heavier traffic than the rest of an area which also needs detergent and cleaning. I'm still unsettled.

What does the label of your product say?
Mine says its a detergent so I call it a detergent.
Some are called presprays.
Use tge phrase on the label so if tge customer questions it you can show them

Fair enough. I do call them detergents when speaking to customers for simplicity sake. Have you actually had customers ask to see your cleaning products?

Yes but not because of what I call it.
I did have a lady laugh at me once for calling it prespray. I told her that's what they call it.
Thats when I started calling it product or detergent.

Our industry and its jargon....:icon_rolleyes:

Back in the early 70s, Bob Hughes and Dan Savanuck introduced "Traffic Lane Cleaner", which was their own name for the product (like "ReleasIt" by Rick, or ""Saiger Sauce" by Mark). That product came out specifically for acrylic carpet (one of the first popular synthetic fibers), which held onto oily soils and couldn't be cleaned with cold water portables or shampoo machines.

They never trademarked the name, and it became a generic term.

That name, prespray, and preconditioner all make sense to "us", but few others.

Steve really says it as fairly and clearly as possible.

The things that end up being THINGS on this board is amazing.

You're a THING on this board, and I think that is amazing.

Anyways back to the monumentally important stuff. I'm going to call my prespray detergent for now and see how it feels for a few weeks. I want to be able to communicate with the professionals I am working with and my customers in the same way whenever possible, bouncing back and forth between different terms for the same thing is exhausting. I'll make sure to report back because I can tell Marty is interested.

I got 4 of them im parting out. Come on down and get yourself one or two. I have 8 steamgeni ptos total. Frankenstein, my main machine 2000 chevy with sg pto as a backup 2 others already parted out in storage keeping as personal parts. Then still in vans i have my old spare( still running, barely) 93 ford w/sg pto 2003 chevy w/sg pto bought as package deal never did anything with it. My old main machine 1998 chevy w/sg pto (blown engine) and waiting for space, a competitor's 92 ford w/ sg pto blown engine the last 4 are up for grabs at this point im going to part them all out. If i don't find homes for them , ill keep the drive shafts, waterboxes, heat exchangers, & vacuum relief valves. Sell blowers and pumpsand reels and i really hate to do it but scrap the rest. Any of these can be be built to last decades an installed in new or newer vans. If your the kinda guy able to take on such a project. I did and after looking at whats out there in the market i am really really glad i did. I now have a machine that with proper maintenance will last 2 or 3 more decades before needing to be rebuilt or replaced not 5 to 8 years like the crap on the market today.

What is it with a machine like a Steam Genie that makes it so much more durable than other machines? Is it a really high quality pressure pump and blower? Slightly stronger fittings and pressure lines everywhere? A more intelligent design that preserves every part better during normal use? Or...?

To me, traffic lane means everything not covered by furniture.

Design, for instance drive shaft, straight with inner and outer only 2 bearings easily rebuild no ujoints. Belts are adjusted with camed idler pulleys 2 cresent wrenches 1 bolt from start to finish less than 5 minutes ( including removing and installing covers)Wastetank/ solid stainless steel. Standard steamgeni uses starvation for chemical feed,no chemical pump and related parts (lines, valves, check valve etc.) Instead of a throttle controller steamgeni uses a somple solenoid( but only has high&idle). Acess front and top covers remove for complete access to all components. Its not that things don't wear out and need repairs. Its that everything is open and easily accessible. All machine components control panel, everything is in 1- 3'Ɨ3' box behind the drivers seat also when things need repaired or replaced, you can do it without standing on your head the difference between working on a steamgeni and working on yours is like the difference between changing spark plugs on a car built in the 70s vs. finding and changing plugs on one built today plus the added longevity of stainless construction. In short they are built to be repaired not replaced. Keep in mind when showing pictures of frankinstien ive added chemical pump, salsa heat, dual chemical tank valve dual wastepump float switches, throttle controller/ remote start/stop on machine and on the pressure pump. Blower Tachometer etc etc In short theres a lot more shit in the 3Ɨ3 box than a stock steamgeni, and still you can see and acess all components easily. I have a near stock one as a spare. Maybe this weekend if i have time ill pull the covers off and take some pics and put um side by side woth frankinstien. To show how much more simpler the stock ones are

I've been following this thread, and to me at least, it seems a few of you might be concerned that The Cleaning Standard will ruin what was once a fun and informative place for you all to visit and chat with each other.

In light of that, I've suggested that this room stay intact for all of you (or "y'all"in southern parlance) to have what you've had.

You can share technical stuff, but still derail threads to your hearts' content, and mildly rebuke each other as "idiots", "hacks", "goobers", or similar terms of endearment.

This will be for MB alumni only.

I don't actually deal with a bunch of Karen's
to that extent. No one asks or cares what I'm using. I could pre or post and they would never know. Just make those spots go away!
Only thing i ever get asked is, is it toxic?. To that i say "only if you're allergic to soap" and direct them to the website for msd's if necessary generally it's not
