so I'm going to look at a building with 10k of new carpet tiles. They have been working in the building. They need it cleaned to move in at the end of this week. Figured this was the perfect opportunity to use my new cimex.
Just wondering what you guys would charge for a job at the size on new carpet.
Hopefully the contractors did and thrash it. Painters in this area still think that paint comes out of carpet with water.
Thank you

Good luck with that. Latex paint comes out with water if you get it right away. Once it dries you need xylene or benzene to get it off. Oil paints are a little easier. Often a little Pog will work. I once had a job where the guy spilled a gallon of purple paint on his off white carpet. I had him keep it wet with wet towels until I could get there and it rinsed out quite easily. He was trying to surprise his wife. I bet she would have been really surprised with purple carpets.

Looking at on Monday so idk if I have paint issues.
I have no idea why people put in flooring and then hire bargain painters.
Large open area with offices around the edges and a conference room.
Me and a helper.
We would vacuum.
People never vacuum in this area. I have yet to see a cleaner with a vacuum on their truck in this area.

The cleaning would be fast but post construction cleaning usually means lots of detailed vacuuming and spotting.

1500-2000 ft an hour cleaning. Vacuuming and spotting could take 3-4 hours or more. It all depends on the condition its left in.

I'd agree with Mike's neighborhood of 8-10 hours

I've done a few jobs just not 10,000 ft. I've gotten a lot better at it. The first time felt like my first day on the wand. People in this area only give you a few days notice for jobs like this. Unfortunately my other two helpers are off camping for the whole week.

This is one where maybe you both vacuum first. Then split up, one using the TM to spot and rinse while the other cleans with the Cimex.

No or little paint, then just Cimex.

Beige.
I would love to use the truck mount and the zipper but unfortunately this building has no parking and no water. On a busy corner with underground parking that not even the van can get into. You can park in the alley and get a ticket and your van ripped off by homeless people.

They have done great so far but I have nothing to compare to.

How many square feet should I get out of each side of Ricks pads?

So on these large low moisture jobs do you guys price it out by the square foot or do you just figure it out and try to keep above 100 and hour

We target $160.00 an hour per machine operator.

We would price that job .12 as a low if it were easy and no hassles.

However your project sounds like extra vacuuming and spotting beyond the average project. To compensate for the extra time .15-.16???

* All pricing would be Dependent on the conditions.

Cool. when I see it on Monday this kind of gives me an idea. I'm sure there's going to be some guys at $.12 a square foot for HWE or lower.
Thank you

Lots of variables:

PITA and reservice costs.

Value of YOUR reputation.

How efficient (not fast)you are.

Future value of this and potentially referred accounts.

...more

I usually price a little high for encap, that job about .20 per sqft. But let them know we discount that price if the job takes less time than we anticipated. We let them know that we are prevacuumming, spot cleaning, etc and doing all the detail work and this is what it costs. If I anticipated that job would be 8 hours but I did it in six, I would knock off 1-200 dollars. When you are upfront with the customer as to what it takes to accomplish the job, you would be surprised how many want to book with you even at a higher price.

But he lives in................Kalifornica.

Your price should be up around .50 sq ft.

Some of those carpet squares will tear up those pads real quick.
