but I bet the hour clock works when plugged in and the switches are off.?. and they replaced some vac motors during that time?

OK - I just had to do the math. The ETM uses four C304 vacuum motors at a cost (according to their website) of $200 each. If you get 2000 hours life out of each set of motors, at 20,600 hours you would be on your 10th set of replacement vacs - at a total cost of $8000 (plus shipping!).

Things that make you go hmmm.....

Considering what I spent last year in repairs for one of my TMS n it's Sprinter Van--- That's a Bargain!!

If the published schematic is accurate the hour meter counts only when the solution pump is running.

It's Mytee--so its probably not accurate-- haha--
The way one distributor talked about Mytee---you would think they were built by high school kids while on detention!
But I'm still fan of Mytee!!

It makes me think----- "Just how much did I make for 20,600 hours"?

Even at a miserly $100 per hour, that would be $2,060.000.00.

I doubt I'd be too concerned about $8,000.00 (plus shipping).

:yoda:

Does anyone want to buy my Boxxer XL so I can buy an electric truck mount? I believe anything I see on a forum...even a picture with an odometer reading a crap load of hours.

With chemicals, equipment, and machines. These suppliers have sold so much junk with pictures like this. I think we've all gotten bit in the ass at least once with crap like this. I know I have. That's why I'm a little bitter when something like this comes up.

How many hours are they putting on it a year? It seems a little impossible at first glance.

???

a whole f'n lot...cause all the post by Brian Jones I find say he had less than 100 hours on it in June 2014.......only 15936 hours have passed since he made that statement......but not likely even if he had it since the escape release (fall 2011...so a solid 12hours per day 365 since)

so unless he (Brian) was using it right outside a black hole that would seem to make Larry a liar or cheat or something...................cause I know he ain't dumb

20, 000 hours does seem like a lot ,

but the cleaner is former military guy.

For what it is worth.

Fred - I just reposted what the guy posted

Like the post you ignored about the X-drive being 100 times the power of the Escape.

We have a customer who does run vac motors 24 hrs each day in a manufacturing process.

Uses the new Lamb 8.4" Lamb vac motors with curved brushes (1500 hours each):

The original vacs are on their 3rd set of brushes ~4000 hours.

That POS can't go 20 hours without something breaking.

:eekk::dejection:--- great!?---mine will arrive today!! Hope I have better luck!

But luckily Ive made alot of mistakes with Portys in the past--so I know how My actions or in actions can contribute to equipment failures.

This was an edit so I missed it.

You know it isn't true Larry......................

As far as an x-drive post...I didn't ignore it. I didn't read it. Actually had to go back and look and as far as I can tell the only place that it was stated, other than you questioning, was on another site. Nobody stopped you from questioning it.

For starters, that statement in my writing about the xDrive being "a hundred fold better" wasn't meant to be taken literally. It'd be like if a sports writer said Tom Brady was 100 times better than his backup quarterback. It's a figure of speech used to draw attention to how good one thing is; not meant to bash the other thing.

As for putting 20,000 hours on a machine, the busiest cleaners that I know put 1,500-2,000 hours a year on their unit, with most successful cleaners putting more towards 800-1,000 a year. In order for a customer to put 20,000 hours on a unit, they'd have to work for 10 years at the busiest pace possible for that to happen. While possible, it just doesn't seem likely to me.
