Absolutely wrong. You have several safety systems from the thermocouple that stops the gas from flowing if the pilot goes out. The temperature control that regulates when the burner comes on and goes off. The pressure relief valve that opens at a preset pressure incase the heater starts to over heat. They are simple systems that have been found to be reliable for many years as long as idiots don't tinker with them

I've never seen or heard of a little giant or the tank actually blowing up..............a bit of a boom when lighting one improperly or one that is poorly maintained (had this happen myself)

Haven't seen many pictures of burning houses caused by propane carpet cleaning heaters. Your responsibility to test your equipment to make sure it's not leaking. I always had a bottle of dish detergent in the truck.

When I was a foolish teen, I took a pair of full 20lb cylinders out to the gravel quarry with a couple friends.
We had a 223 caliber AK47….

I unloaded it into both tanks, and all it did was hiss out propane…

We were expecting a BIG boom, but, nada…

I have never actually heard of a tank exploding. You need the right proportion of has and air to create an explosion. Unless someone tampered with the pressure relief, I'm not sure it's even possible.
