We recently began private labeling an odor control product for a company that specializes in cleaning artificial turf. The product removes pet urine odors and leaves the turf smelling like fresh mowed grass.
I'm doing a Agricultural Center's 3000sq. ft artificial turf this monday. Pig Urine is my problem. The poop isn't a big deal, because prevaccing most of it is accomplished. They told me last time that the smell of ammonia was strong after I cleaned it. Can you send me a link of that product?

Whatever you use make sure it doesn't leave the surface slick. Some products will.
300 pigs walk on this yard at these pig shows and I clean it after those shows. So imagine those pigs flooding it with urine. That’s what I’m up against.

The new problem with this AstroTurf I'm working on is the backing. It's a spongelike material that's about 1/8th inch thick. I thought it had normal backing when I cleaned it, but now I see that most of it needs to be flooded. And from our education, if it's padding, it needs to be replaced. This is $10k worth of carpet that's used for pig shows. I told them I'll spray the back with enzymes next time they roll it out for the pig show.

What would you've said if you found out this problem after you cleaned it? Since I didn't do enough inspection on it prior to cleaning it, I feel the blame is gonna fall on me. I just figured since my friend cleaned it with no complaints prior to me getting this contract, that it should clean up nice. I know my friend's process, and I thought I'd do better.

The stuff Matt's cleaning isn't Field Turf, or even Astro Turf. It's a synthetic grass that's often used for landscaping in places where people can't grow grass.

The foam is closed cell so it doesn't absorb water, but it also won't let water pass through. Again, like the best recommendation for cleaning Field Turf, you're better off pressure washing it and in this case rinsing contaminants to the edges rather than trying to vacuum it up.

Would the foam cell backing get any cleaner if I cleaned it on the back side? From the pictures, it looks like they unrolled it on a dirty floor

I cleaned a different FFA buildings carpet today, and this time it was cow crap. Sorry Marty

One thing I learned today is, it’s a MUST to clean these carpets after each show. This carpet in the picture was after 2shows and it has sat for over 6months. I, literally used twice as much water and took 2-3hrs longer than I did on the other building that cleaned it after each show. This was the first time I cleaned it for them, and I told them I’ll have to adjust the invoice next time if they don’t clean it after each show.

Good thing is they had the right kind of carpet with no pad as the backing

That account could use a Zipper
I’m glad I kept mine
Maybe. I love the big opening on my Mach glide with this turf. If a zipper had that glide, it’s be worth considering buying another one. These accounts seem to be referring me in their network. I might pick up 2 more counties soon

can you special order a glide that hasnt had the holes drilled yet and drill smaller holes that wont pick up the crum rubber?

it would probably cling to the holes but as you push forward they might just wipe right off

r and took 2-3hrs longer than I did

you work alone on them, Matt?

might be to your benefit to find a cash pay day laborer for them methinks
one man pre-sprays and rotary scrubs , the other rinses with Mardy's drag wand

you'll cut a third off your time and do as well or better w/rotary scrub 'n extract
and be less poop'd to boot (no pun intended)
