My Son finally took control and did some repairs to the Genny. The APO was leaking....bad.....so I stopped using it about 2 months ago. I found the seals I ordered about 5 years ago for a previous pump, so he tore it down and rebuilt it. Man, wish I could piss a stream like this!!

Next part change is the bearing housing/belt drive shaft off the rear of the engine. It will be here Monday. I generally would hide the hose in a more discreet spot, but this was the back of an apartment (read ghetto) complex.

Hi Robert,
Not to ruffle your feathers but what's the need for a pump out if you just pump to the lawn? Why not just dump there?

Steve.....like Lee says, to clean without stopping. I will always find a sanitary drain to pump into. On larger lots, I will pump out onto the yard. APO is more "discreet"....small, little hose VS. a 2 inch monster gushing out and unsightly. It's more for convienience on big jobs, when you're 5 stories up and don't want to keep shutting down for draining.

Oh Okay, thanks. I guess I was assuming your waste tank was large enough for one residential job and you could just dump during packup.

That will make a nice green spot in the yard for your customers.

Nah, Steve..............The APO actually contributes to a faster filling waste tank because.....I run a Kinetico softner, which recharges after every 300 gallons of water used, so it might recharge on everyother job. When the APO kicks on, it opens a solienoid that primes the APO so that the impeller doesn't burn up. It's a vicious circle. a full tank means APO on, which uses a good amount of water, which taxes the Kinetico to regenerate, which also adds to the waste level while regenerating......and on and on and on.....Plus the Genesis waste tank only stores about 60-75 gallons before it would start drawing moisture through the blower. High CFM....good for carpet drying, bad for high waste water in the tank near the filters. If I eliminate the Kinetico and the APO, the tank would fill slower, and I'd have to drain it the old way.....2" hose on the ground.
