Best 175 hard surface brush for reaching reccessed grout lines

I seem to recall rotary brushes that incorporated some LONGER staggered bristles along with it's "standard" bristles, that were beneficial in reaching lower into recessed grout lines.

Anyone familiar with any?

We carry the Malish Clean-Grit and the Mal Grit brushes at Excellent Supply. They're both very good brushes for T&G. I've personally used Mal-Grit brushes for many years for stripping floors - it's a great brush.

175 Brushes most of the time don't work like you think...Manual labor sometimes with wire brushes (harbor freight) or blue Carlisle nylon pole brushes back and fourth...I also like a black pad (ceramic and porcelain tile) for removal of like "swifter" films and more...Chemical doesn't typically melt away everything...I don't have all day to wait either! Especially on natural stones like "travertine" = White Pad or Hogs Hair pad with safe chemical on Natural Stone...I did use the malish brush recently on a look a like slate material with rough surfaces and it worked (helped)...Either way, it will be trial and error! Every job seems to be different!

Grit brushes only help if the grout lines are shallow and fairly wide.

A cylindrical brush machine w/stiff brush parallel to the grout line is a good scrubbing device.

Using a 175 works if you heal the machine to dig the brush into that grout line.

You better plan on maskung the walls four feet down.

Mike is right. Healing a 175 like a madman can work wonders on even the most belligerent grout lines. I've never seen a cylindrical scrubber that could come anywhere close to a properly healed 175. But healing a 175 hard for an extended period of time is hard work - this isn't for sissies.

P.S. The Clean-Grit bristles are adequate for medium sized grout lines. However the Mal-Grit is a scrubbing beast, if you have wide enough grout lines.

If there is a floor finish on those tiles that you have to strip, do that first before you try heeling the 175. Stuff get slick as lube oil and you'll be dragged off your feet.

Do you have to worry about those "mal-grit" type brushes scratching ceramic or porcelin tiles when used on a 175?

That's been my experience. When you run a rotary like I showed in that video, it's pretty hard to beat.
