I have a Phoenix but only use it for Commercial. I only use Microfiber Bonnets for Commercial. I scrub with a Fiber Pad first. If needed

My favorite Encap for Commercial is Excellent Supply Releasit DS2

I have a 13'' 175-300 Hawk. It does a good job but I prefer OP's. It must be carried up and down stairs and rotaries fling crap all over baseboards furniture tile

I never liked Green Stripe Bonnets. I guess they would be ok to scrub with first but a soft brush does a much better job at scrubbing

I only use no odor Presprays for nice Residential. I use a Worx Hydroshot to Prespray. Prespray gets into the air and I have had some complaints. If your using Phoenix the jets are only a few inches from the carpet so that's not a problem

I used Procyon Extreme a few times. It did a good job and has no odor

My favorite Residential Presprays are Carpet Details and Bonnet Pro NanoMAXX. Both have no odor

I use NanoMAXX at 2-3 oz and add some Peroxide. If needed

Carpet Details 4-6 oz

Unoccupied Homes and Rentals I don't worry about odor. So I use whatever Prespray I want

If I'm in a occupied Home with trashed carpet I warn the customer about some odor from Prespray and use what I need to get Carpet clean

I've tried most of the VLM Presprays out there except for Saigers and Encapstore products

Never heard of StainResist

I use a CRB and Trinity Odyssey for most of my Residential

I also have a Orbot Vibe TL for large Residential

Residential I scrub with a CRB first before extracting with a OP and Cotton or Microfiber Bonnets
I called the Dynachem and the guy didn't know that Stainresist could be used for VLM, lol.
He looked it up, and was surprised.

It can be used on wool, and upholstery too, and even HWE.

I like Grey Matter Chemistry too.
I know Tim personally and he's a nice guy.
I also use his products, and I'm glad you brought Grey Matter up.
He has posted a lot of helpful video's on YouTube over the years.
You PM him and he'll respond, and he'll answer phone calls and help you, as will Mark Saiger.

And the results?
well I could tell you but the reason we did it was to convince ourselves. There is nothing like talking to a customer with confidence. How do you get that confidence? When you actually see it for yourself!

I will tell you this tho, the two *name brand* protectors didnt fair too well. Major disappointment there.

when you were in your twelves?
When I was 12:

Rug cleaners thought anyone who cleaned rugs in the home was at idiot or a crook.

Hot Water Extraction ("steam cleaners" then) Guys thought Shampoo Guys were dishonest or lazy and left too much residue in carpet.

Shampoo Guys (todays VLMers) thought Hot Water Extraction guys used way more water than necessary to clean a carpet.

All three groups tended to be controlled by Confirmation Bias

Over 50 years later....little has changed

Why do I think I won’t ever live down my “three texts” advice?

Isn’t there a scriptural addendum to “Love doesn’t keep account of the injury” that adds:

“Love doesn’t keep account of past posts”?

Silver Solution works good in certain situations, but I didn't think you were supposed to spike it?

Well....I'm going to warn you once first. You were removed from the rubber room for your unhinged repetitive posts. If you continue to drag this issue into the "professional" forums yes you will be removed from them too.

This was the warning in case it wasn't clear.

Stick to carpet cleaning and you'll be ok. There is a lot of interest in vlm right now. One of my friends sold me his truck mount and has gone all vlm. I do a lot of commercial vlm and am interested in your procedures for residential. Looks like you have developed a pretty decent system.

Yes it's Bonnet Cleaning

But with New and Improved Equipment and Detergents

I Steam Cleaned carpets for 25 Years

Switching from HWE to VLM in 2019 is one of the best decisions I have ever made

It's not the 1990's anymore

VLM WORKS !!!
I have an ole timer friend that did the same…switched from hwe to vlm. He’s getting it done easier and less strain on the body.

I think that typically
Prespray best would be saigers 10 below or ultrapac extreme
Rinse All fiber rinse powder
Protectant any one that can be co-applied
Booster 1-2 scoops of tile cleaner

but most importantly if money isnt the issue I personally believe
a large truckmount with heat and oversized blower
conservative psi
slow passes both wet and dry
agitation
you cant go wrong

Well im in that category luckily. So in other words just go buy some Las totally awesome for dirty carpet and vinegar for natural fibers or urine? Lol jk

I've found that having the higher heat and better recovery makes the most difference.

Just keep it simple I can use pretty much any prespray
As long as I agitate and rinse correctly
I like heat but dont need it usually

Well, Von Schrader works, Host works, Bane works and yes, VLM works too!

The real question is which one is most effective?
The one that's most effective is the one (or more) you've perfected.

Our church is maintained by national chain, and they must hire hacks because they do terrible work with a truck mount.
A retired HWE guy complains about the service they provide.

I respect men who swear by HWE, VLM, etc. and they all do great work. And all swear their method is the best.

When you hire a mechanic, you don't care about how they fix your car, just that it gets fixed.

Know when certain jobs are beyond your skill/equipment level.

I've passed on the jobs, or explained that I will do my best, but they can find others who may do a better job, and they still wanted me to do it the best I could.

If they still want you, ask advice on boards, FB groups, YouTube video's, then go experiment on samples of carpet or buy small pieces of tile - etc., just get better.

Be honest, many customers are hiring you, not your process.

Very good advice Con😉 Since I do both I don’t mind saying that on church’s with all the usual spills, low moisture seems to work best. I still use a Cimex on em and get great results. But I have a trailer😀
