Why not groom with a rake?
It takes longer but I believe using a CRB with soft brushes makes the carpet fibers stand up better and makes the carpet look better than with a rake. Especially cheap polyester

Some people HATE the TRUTH but the TRUTH is VLM WORKS !!!

I love VLM !!!

Silver Solution works good in certain situations, but I didn't think you were supposed to spike it?
Haven't used Silver Solution much in the last year but when I do use it I only use it on lightly soiled carpet and furniture. You can add peroxide to Silver Solution.

I have that same Kirby vacuum.

What procedures did you learn over those 6 months that really made a difference?
Something that I left out was water

I take all my own water to every job in 2 1/2 and 5 gallon jugs

My area doesn't have hard water but I still run all my water thru a soft water tank

I can see a slight difference

I believe it makes a 5-10% positive difference on every job

For all the cleaners that still don't believe in VLM, or don't want to believe THANK YOU !!!

I would groom a carpet like that especially if I was going to post photos of it...

Not sure what that means

I guess eat post photos means take post photos

Doesn't matter if I'm taking post photos or not that's how I do it

Looks like a low budget location so they probably didn't notice or care
Your exactly right about that. 30 year old nylon carpet. It was a trashed rental and I had to use a shop vac to vacuum up all the crap before I started to clean. The owner of the townhouse paid me and he appreciated the work I did but the tenants probably trashed it again within a week

Here’s a tip for you even though you have a trump profile pic, just use a big red or yellow
dust pan from Home Depot for those trashed locations instead of the wet vac. A lot faster!

I keep a small 8 gallon shop vac in my van at all times just in case I run into a trashed house that my vacuum can't handle. I only use that shop vac 1-2 times a year. I use the shop vac to pick up the big crap and then have to use a regular vacuum after that. The big dust pan and a trash bag is a good idea and would be easier and faster than bringing in a shop vac.

I rarely use Carpet Details anymore. The main reason I used it last year was because of no odor. Low odor or no odor is needed in a lot of residential homes. There are a lot of over weight, unhealthy, sick people out there and everything bothers them. I got away from it about 8-9 months ago. Carpet Details is good but like a lot of presprays struggles to clean difficult polyester.

I finally tried Green Dragon this year and just like Carpet Details doesn't clean oil loving polyesters as good as I want. It's ok but no WOW

I've seen a lot of Procyon copy cats. The true test is to put some in a pail and run hot water in it. If it foams, it's crap. Procyon doesn't foam at all.
Your exactly right about that !!!

And that's why I use Procyon Powder to clean my bonnets. NO FOAM !!!

It's a expensive bonnet cleaner and needs HOT Water but it doesn't foam and I don't care if it's expensive. All I care about is getting the best possible end results

I hated when I looked into my washing machine and saw it loaded with foam. With Procyon Powder there is NO FOAM and it cleans my bonnets better than anything I have tried. Have you ever taken your bonnets out of the washer and they felt a little stiff ??? I have but no more !!!

I want to get all the dirt and detergents out of my bonnets, so they're soft fresh and clean to start with. That way they can better do their job

VLM cleans by absorbing dirt into bonnets that's encapsulated in the cleaning solution so clean soft bonnets are very important to getting the best possible end results

Doing all the little things adds up to better end results. Cleaner carpet and happy customers !!!

What alkaline rinses have you used from Harvard? What is the best one in your book?
That's the only product I refuse from Harvard I to use. I used extreme, fury and PX plus and during that testing with a couple other brands from different companies, I was going through hoses terribly. It ate the lining up and was causing black water to shoot out.

I was so confused because I didn't know at the time what was causing my hoses to crap out on me. Ever since I stopped using alkaline rinses, my hoses are lasting like they should
