Management is pretty dead set on the self contained. they are also against use of the orbitals since they were told it destroys the carpet fibers. but lets be honest here. Its glue on carpet... if it eventually destroys one square, we can just replace it with a new one.

Tell management to look at ORBOT. They have CRI approval. The Carpet & Rug Institute has the Vibe, SprayBorg, and Slim models listed on their "deep cleaning systems" page... https://carpet-rug.org/testing/seal-of-approval-program/certified-deep-cleaning-systems/

I am by no means a professional janitor. but I got tired of our equipment/product salesman talking out his ass about things so i started doing my own research and have come to the conclusion that i was indeed right and our rep is kind of an idiot.

Too small an initial investment in equipment.

With the frequency of use and coverage you're going to need to double or triple what the little machine cost you.

You need something like a large Nilfisk or similar. Something designed for daily use, so it will hold up under that usage. Talk with your local jan/san rep, he should have something better for you.
We cant get too large of a machine. Currently due to Covid we have plexi glass dividers between each of the machines. so the machine has to be small enough to fit between them. Currently the two self contained machines we have had fit perfectly under the plexiglass or fit between. We use the Chariot iExtract riding extractors for most of the walkways. Which they dont do a great job since most people try to just run on the fastest speed so they can get done quickly. but it allows us to get the larger areas with ease.

Thanks! I'll look into these and see if it will work for what we need and then present it to management. I have been looking into encapsulation, but again they dont seem to keen on it. They want us to make it look nice and shiny, but dont want to give us the equipment and chemicals we need -____-
Assuming a dead flat floor is a big assumption. Any irregularity in the carpet will lift the entire slot so... no vacuum at all until you hit perfectly flat carpet again. Call it carpet lippage; tiles are often uneven on the edges.

He's right but for the wrong reason. A lot of in-house maintenance people like the quick and easy spinny pad and use it too many times without a good rinse. What ruins the carpet is build up of spinny pad juice. Then the carpet owner blames the mill, the mill sends an inspector, the inspector finds the build-up and..

Given your parameters, I would agree with Richard, look for something sturdier from Clarke or Viper.
They cost more, but what does a casino owner care about cost?

so far the machines do pretty well at water recovery. the tiles are generally pretty flat. Its a light color floor ( because whoever designed this building was an idiot -__- ) so oversaturation is very visible. Define spinny pad and spinny pad juice lol. Are you referring to the carpet bonnet and people just using it without cleaning it? Its been almost 5 years since we used the orbital machine on the carpet. So i honestly cant remember what the whole process was . We have a Viper venom low speed Model VN1720P that we used to use with the carpet bonnets. We also have a Square Scrub Pivot 20in machine that i usually use for tile and grout but it has a carpet bonnet option. However that machine has just been problem after problem. especially with getting the grip face to stay on the damn thing. Honestly they hate parting with money for our stuff. I have some words about it all but ill keep it to myself for now lol.
