Been getting a few calls lately to clean carpet tiles.
Worried that with HWE, the water may get in between the tiles and under, and cause issues.
And that a bonnet may dislodge the ones where the glue is failing or weakened.

What is the best way to clean these tiles?

Agreed, steaming makes a big difference. This is definitely the most effective way to clean carpet tiles without leaving any marks at all. Just do it once properly so that it won't bother you again for a while at least.

When they first came out, the suggestd method was replace the dirty or spotted one and take it back to the maint. room or shop . A CRB type machine seem to do wonder. We used Hosts process that did the best job overall.

All we clean is commercial carpet and many many tiles, for the most part are no problem if they are an interface tile or other quality manufacture. Rarely do problems arise from the tiles comming loose, most post issues come from the actual seams looking more pronounce after cleaning. If the carpet has been down for a long time it may even look like broadloom as many of the fibers in the seams are crushed and matted and after cleaning the spuare my be more visible. just qualify that and your ok, we clean them everyday

You can clean them with any method but encapsulation will minimize wicking which is prevalent in tiles due to lack of air flow through vinyl backing.

Carpet tiles is the fastest growing section in the commercial segment. Shaw and Interface are the leaders but most of the commercial manufacturers make tiles.

Totally agree with previous posts. We have been cleaning a chain of restaurants for over 4 years with tiles and never had an issue. Very rarely the wand may pull up an edge by the wall but that's simply due to the suction. If the tiles are installed properly and a decent quality, this is very east to clean.
