Gumolene. We heat it up, put a small amount on the spot and use the wood end of a tamping brush to work it out. This way, we can switch from brush to scrapper. I sharpen them up if they get dull.

Volatile solvent in a trigger sprayer. I work over the gum first with a spiked wall paper roller to put some holes in it. Spray, let it sit and work in for a few seconds and pull it off with a scraper. I use the same product for gum, grease, wax, crayon or any other oil based stain.

I've been using that clear gel solvent from Cleanmaster called OJ. I just shake it, squirt it out, scrub it, and suck it out, lol

Who cares? They all work.
I do!!
seems none work ike ya all say!! they do. at least for me.

got em all. every one mentioned. Utilize poking, scraping. time tons of time after poking, pricking scraping, dumping tons of above product. Treating long before.

Have gotten all the tools. I like the linoleum hook knive. Sharpy pointy side to poke holes in the wad. then the next half hour gingerly picking at it. Then turning it over using the back side to ever so gently scrape.:hopeless::hopeless:
then finally just pulling it all out . tufts and all!!!!!!!

but, in the spirit of full divulgence, Guerkink's is the only one I have not YET tried.

But just like any good carpet cleaner , no chemcal will be left out!!!!!!lol:smile:

Gum Up by Guerkink (Trinity Renewal) is the best gum remover I use. Vacaway doesn't have Gum Up. Not all of Guerkinks products come from Vacaway.
Gum Up is different than all other gum removers I've used. It's not a solvent and won't hurt the backing. The reason I think its better is you can just squirt it on the gum heavy when doing the walk thru then by the time you extract the gum is loosed so it comes up during the clean. Most of the time no hand scrubbing is required, just wand scrub it. It's weird because its not a solvent that dissolves the gum it just makes it not stick to the carpet fiber any longer. Truly a unique product. Doesn't resoil either like the citrus gel spotters do
