I posted a while back that blacklights do not do well on poly and was told it was because I didn’t have a good blacklight like Cobbs. KMA!

Fourth of July is for celebrating INDEPENDENCE !

And you want to discuss cat pee KMA!

Carpet fiber should not affect fluorescence.

The difference is absorption of the fluorescent material by the fiber.

Polyester absorbs less water-based staining material.

Staining also depends on the concentration of the staining material in the urine/spray.

Cats have stronger concentrations.

If the fiber doesn't absorb the urine, then yes,it does affect fluoresence.

Polyester absorbs less of the water-based staining material.

It migrates down the fiber, and usually ends up on the backing.

In a loose pile it will still be visible.
