Thursday a package arrived.

Today I opened it to find the UV light from Cobb's store. It isn't big, but when I turned it on, it was startling how bright it is.

I have a hand-held UV spotlight that served very well, but needs a new battery. Two years ago I promised to get one of these as a replacement. I think this is a fantastic find.

Bloody thing outshines the other one by DOUBLE. The light spot does not look purple, it has that weird whitish look that tells you it is staying in the proper wavelength (not wandering up to violet). I cannot wait to take into the field next week. It will be nice not to have to darken the rooms to do an inspection, for sure!

Meanwhile, I wonder if it would work as a mini tanning booth?

Features are a charger, fully charged on arrival (nice touch) and a rugged belt sheath.

Larry has an amazing light for sale and it really has the power to make inspections efficient and productive. Get one if you don't yet have one.

PS: Larry, thanks for the oxidizer/enzyme. I look forward to using it on the next pee job.

I did see this quote today about UVA . . .

"However, the paper also recognizes a very important benefit from UVA:

”UV generates nitric oxide (NO), which may reduce blood pressure and generally improve cardiovascular health.
UVA induced NO may also have antimicrobial effects and furthermore, act as a neurotransmitter.”

I purchased Larry's UV light several years ago and have been very happy with it ($239.95). I read on Mikeys board that Larry had made some improvements to the light to make it brighter.

I sent my light back to Larry @ Cobb's Carpet Supply, and for less than $100 he upgraded my old light. It is brighter now.

He sells two lights. The more expensive one works great without yellow glasses, the cheaper ones work just about as good with yellow glasses. I buy the cheaper ones and put it in a case with glasses. At an occupied I give the customer a pair of glasses and then show them the spots. Amazing marketing tool. Ps the yellow glasses I use are cheap $2 safety glasses, nothing special.

What ever this one is! The size is wonderful, it along with the tripod fits in a small case. I most recently used it to pull a coffee stain out of a corner at a coffee bar in a conference room. The results were surprisingly good.
I work at an university so never see anything but CGD.
Can I say BRIGHT! Really does the job.

Thanks, Marlene works at the University of California, Davis (32,000 students).

She has the tripod for spot removal, as well as the #GG8BL light.
