Guess I missed something, but just saying... we only use cold water when immersion cleaning rugs. The gunk still comes out.

I would say immersion cleaning and aggitation makes up for loss of heat

It costs us less to heat water for cleaning than to make up for it in additional dwell time and agitation effort, and saves the cost of additional chemical use. Reducing the need for additional agitation also reduces the chance of damage to fibers.

Heating water for cleaning, in real terms, is better for the planet.

I think TIDE makes a cold water detergent.

And in HARVARD CHEMICALS catalog they also make a cold water powder for carpet cleaning.

Hot water is over rated!

And so is cold water!

If you ask me, not that you ever would, the future for the planet is in single malts.

Sipped slowly.

laundry also sits in the water for 30 minutes agitating. Who wants to sit and agitate a carpet for 30 min per 50sf? I'll vacuum it for that long IF it needs it. but the scrubbing is the quick part

Ken I never thought of it in terms of rugs. How much faster do you think hotwater cleaning makes your operation?
