I'm thinking of switching from Cool Cuffs to Flash Cuffs. Anything I should know or think about before switching?

One of these days I gotta make the switch over to flash cuffs. Can you get male starter 2.5" cuffs with NPT threads?

I have dual 2.5" ports off the Butler filter box connected to a 2.5"wye.

I did the same years ago.
My guys we fed up of the Cools coming undone on our electric reels. Dangerous as its too likely to get a cuff to smash your nose back into your brain.

Flashes leak air a tad so adjust your vacuum relief accordingly.
Totally agree. I asked Mike before I switched and am happy with the choice. Better than Cool Cuffs. Noticed my first cracked ring on one cuff today.

The 2.5" cool cuffs come apart on the reel almost daily for me. Real pain. Other then that, they have last several years. Ready to switch to Flash.

My Cuff-Lynx experiment was like burning money. Hard to believe those are on still on the market.

Flash cuffs are great. No complaints at all, just be to replace the heavily used ones once or twice a year. Worth every penny and more.

cool cuffs are very good, but on 2.5 you cant beat flash cuffs they dont unscrew, I got fed up with the 2.5 coming undone on the hose reel, it sits under my first 75' of 2" and I don't know why but the cool cuffs would come apart and make a very big mess of my hose reel. So I switched on my 2.5 hose and the flash cuffs have worked out fine.

I've never had a problem with Mytee cuffs. I don't know if those are the cool or flash cuffs. I've put well over 1200hrs on my Mytee ones and they hold together just fine with no leaks. The trick is to turn them counter clockwise until it acts as a spring to twist itself into closing position when you want to connect them.

And always, of course, use some sort of silicone sealer to install a cuff on a hose for obvious reasons, duh
