Cuffs......for the 1000th time.

So, what's the consensus on locking cuffs? I'm going to "lock cuff" all the hoses, and have a few 2" to 2.5" transitions. Yeah, I know I'm behind the times. Had too many come loose on the hose reel, even under suction.

So what's the best?

I use joes cuffs. I have tried at one time or another the others and they aren't as durable. Some of mine have the slide lock and those never fail. Knurled stainless would probably work and be inside so no snags. Glue one side in. I've always wanted to try it. The one downfall to all of them is they can scratch delicate surfaces.

Flash cuffs. Replace female ends with some frequency.

I wish they had a soft rubber coating on them for in the home and outside when it's freezing cold.

Extra care needs to be taken when dropping the female end, even from waist height, when it's cold.

I'm talking Iowa cold.

I've only ever had one crack on me, but it got slammed pretty hard.i just like how they really stay put on the hose and they are easy to unlock.

Plastic dip. I spray lots of my tools just to protect customers walls. Don't see why it wouldn't work on the cuffs. I even have a strip across the front of the zipper

The swiveling cuffs from J.B. work great and are super durable.
Still on my originals that I bought a long time ago.

Plastic dip is available at Lowes and other home improvement stores by the spray paint. It comes in pint can for actually dipping tool handles in or a spray can.

Where do you get this plastic dip?

Here's a slightly worn zipper with plastic dip on front. It prevents the little marks on the walls that I can't keep my tech from making. It comes in cool colors and just peels right off if you don't like it. I'll add a couple more coats and this will look like new again.
