95% of the homes I've cleaned this spring and summer have had their furnace HUMIDIFIERS on. Most around the 35-40 setting. As I clean past them usually in the hallways I turn them OFF. Why people want to use their air conditioners and have moisture added is beyond me.
Some have even had dehumidifiers running in the basement.
One lady I made the mistake of telling argued with me that it says it should be on.
I didn't put up much of an argument because she never lets me get a word in edge wise anyway. The kind where you start to say something and she gets louder and louder.
And I always ask if I can turn ceiling fans on after I leave rooms.
Always ask because some fans are broke or they don't like them on because of the dust blowing around.
