Are you Devpro filter users finding that your waste tank inlet filters stay clean forever?

Tom the overthinker...

That boy is going to rule the industry some day.

You should see his next magic trick..:eekk:

I do edging with my vac hose as the prespray dwells. Those fine particulates get through the Devastator, especially when it's dry and the first job of the day. I'm sure it would be far worse if I wasn't running the D.

I have to rinse out my waste tank filters every few days....depending on how bad the edges have been.

that is a smart practice russ, i don't care what type of prefilter or line filter we are using, YOU STILL NEED TO CHECK AND MOST OF THE TIME CLEAN YOUR TANK AND BLOWER FILTERS.

never know when a simple but devastating (pun was not intended) failure in the filter bag or mesh can occur and prolonged exposure through a failure can easily cause problems in a unit.

so much easier to take 10 minutes and pull filters and 1 a month clean out waste tanks.

BUT I DIDNT PAY FOR ANYONE ELSES EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN MINE SO I GUESS IT DOESNT MATTER.

are you Dev users using panty hose on your tank filters?
I've tried, hoping for the best. The Cleanco filters are very fine. It doesn't stop me from having to pull them out and rinse them off.

I really wish it did.

Why not spray some water into the hose before edging so to catch more of the debris?

Laziness I suppose. I get better over time, maybe I'll try to add that to my regimen....when the phone starts ringing again!

I had to put a belt back on mine for the 1st time yesterday.

What a pain in the ass operation that is. What do you do if you don't have that stupid stick thing around?

and where is the directional diagram on the vacuum to show which way the belt goes?

Belt change gets easier with practice. It is a PITA. A screwdriver on my multi tool does the trick.

There's a small diagram on the 18" model on the vac relief port, to show the direction of the belt. Best thing to do is get it on there right and snap a pic. The beater bar has an angled "catch" on it that makes it only work one way (or belt won't last)

Which one do you have Mike? I think the height adjustment and vac relief are different on the 14" model

View attachment 11252 I put new pantyhose on my blower filters every 100 hours as a precaution. I also run panty hose in my devastator and throw them out after about 2 jobs
Over the blower filter is a great idea and one I'll be employing from here on out. I find that the pantyhose clogs very fast though in the waste water filter. That's one reason I disliked the Mytee filter design.

There was definitely a little trial and error involved in the belt changes. It's really not bad now. I've had the vac for a year or so and have probably been through 5-6 belts. I'm not vacuuming in every home because I use the RotoVac so much.

What mikey said: The newest devastator over his last model has a significant increase in airflow and the amount it holds. This one never seems to hold water like the older model did. I could hear the airflow increase when I switched to the newer model.

Thank you everyone.

I would like to say that I never would say to run a TM with no blower inlet filter, it is just not worth the risk for such a little gain. Also I do tell guys that you can go longer without cleaning the waste tank blower filters, but I still believe you should check them, just to make sure everything is going like it should be.

I am working with Tim, and as some of you have actually seen first hand the gains the Newer models have over the old, even though they look very simular the improvements even though they LOOK small have made a pretty decent improvement.

We are working very hard on the new wand....and even though the wand may look very simular we believe we will be succesful in performance gains over a standard wand. I am testing our prototype glides, and a idea that is showing very promising results.

We just got new batch of swivels back, we went with a better anodizing company and it was a very good move....the even better thing is that they are a local Mom n Pops family run company, being able to jump in the truck and go meet with them face to face and discuss any concerns is AWESOME. The cost is more but it was worth every penny.

The new head is also produced locally, I went back to the man that actually helped me by making the molds for the og Dev filters, The first run of wand heads came out beautiful, when we went and picked them up, John the man that did them had never before taken on this hard of a job before and was very nervous the whole time doing it. As we left I told Tim it is really cool that this project pushed him and he was successful, I am not saying this in a cocky way, but it is awesome to be part of helping someone become better at what they do, and he nailed it they are perfect.

We are getting closer, we still have some other things we want to have done, we are working on things from the top to the bottom of this wand and hoping we have enough time before the show back east. It would be awesome to have them ALL done.....if we do we really might need a medi van there.....I think guys might possibly passout from the excitement due to not breathing.

Keep you all posted

I can't say enough good things about the Dev filter without sounding like I snuggle with it at night...lol!
I buy the paint filters from Amazon and replace them after every one or two jobs depending on the job.
My blower filter thus far is staying amazingly clean, I still check it routinely just to be safe and because I have OCD but every time, it looks great!
This filter is so much more quiet, that stupid Mytee Lint Hog was loud!
I never have water in it when I'm done, and the ease of cleaning it is worth it's weight in gold.
But by far, the biggest thing I love about it is the massive improvement of my vacuum. I have to makes sure there is nothing close by that can get sucked up whenever I lay the hose on the floor...the sound of that scarf going through there the other day was funny! Thankfully the owner of the scarf thought it was funny too!
I went from having a Fox with a 56 blower to this White Magic with a 45 and was rather disheartened by the difference. I never felt confident that I was getting the level of extraction that I wanted. From the moment I got this filter, that was no longer an issue. My dry times are amazing!
My three absolute favorite people in the manufacturing side of this industry are @TConway and @Erik and Nick Long (sales) at Rotovac. Because, between the Dev filter and the Zipper and the RV 360i my job efficiency and ease are better than I could ever have imagined!
Tom.....you are a game changer in this industry and your products, integrity, and knowledge shine like the sun. :)

Thank You Kellie,
The truth is I am just a carpet cleaner that absolutely loves my job, and I am very fortunate in many ways, and just very thankful for everything. My family has made great sacrifices in our lifestyle to let me work on some of these things, and hopefully someday they will have a little better or less stressful life because of it.

Is anyone using Nylon stockings in the Devastator instead of the paint bags?

i don't see the need for nylon stockings personally. Between the black mesh bag and the paint filter it does great.

I don't know. I've never used one, but I am switching over to the Dev and at least some 2 1/2" this spring.

I like throwing the cheap stockings away after every job. I don't really like the idea of washing out the white bags or throwing away a couple every day.

I haven't tried them. I will say that the paint filters fit perfectly and when bought in bulk very inexpensive.
